@bilsongirl: oh, this kind of stereotypes exist for quite some time now. @aol.com? Definitely not the best choice. Hotmail and yahoo? may be okay but not if you apply for a job as a programmer. Gmail? Nothing wrong with that. And so on. Using a specific mail service tells something about you. It may be wrong but

@alek2407: and that's wrong. No not-so-tech-savvy will use an extension to force SSL. Also forcing SSL kind of disables the chat. If we've learned something from the firesheep hype over the last weeks it's that SSL should be enabled automatically on fb.

I actually find the idea pretty intriguing. A small circle of people you actually care about and you share mostly pictures of interest plus a small comment with them. Sounds way better than "broadcasts for everyone" Twitter or "haven't seen you since high school but added you anyway" Facebook. Reminds me of the

Seems like today I finally have to get aDOSBox [androiddosbox.appspot.com] to run on my Android and be able to play some of those retro gems on the go.

@NotEnglishSpeaker: You do realize that a phone with a contract isn't free, right? So you pay like $20 a month for your phone (hidden in a $40 contract) but can't spend a few bucks on apps and so you decide to use a pirated $.99 product? Maybe you shouldn't use a product you can't afford ...

@NotEnglishSpeaker: So you've got a phone for like $400 and can't pony up $.99 for an app that's useful for you?

After failing with inbox zero I took the inbox infinity approach more or less unvoluntarily. It works. I've got filters for some newsletters and facebook stuff to keep them out of my way but the rest is one huge inbox. Keeping mails unread or staring them keeps the important ones on my radar.

@MifuneT: My PC helps me to earn money, my smart phone helps me to spend money ...

I don't understand why there is no way in Android to deny some permissions on install (or later). Add checkboxes to the list of required permissions and everything would be fine. If I deny something and the app doesn't work: my fault. But if I want to disallow e.g. a note taking app to use GPS I should be able to do

I prefer Quick System Info because it's the only one I know of that shows A2SD+ space on an ext3/4 partition: [www.appbrain.com]

If you travel as a couple you can also pretend you're on honeymoon. It's much harder to ask for proof as there is no Honeymooner Card but a Student Card :-D. In a lot of cases it get's you an upgrade, free usage of the spa, a bottle of wine, or something like that.

@trentonzero: Normally school results are not tested against Benford's Law but should match the pattern of "normal distribution" [en.wikipedia.org] - which is (according to my education science professor) not very good and often worse than having no statistic at all. Problems arise when there are valid tests with too

Money isn't evil by itself - it's human greed that turns it into a tool for doing evil things. If people would be satisfied with what they already have at some point a lot of people wouldn't get exploited the way the do now.

I tried it but it screws up in combination with Quick Desk. I currently use single Home click for LauncherPro and double Home click to bring up Quick Desk. Long clock Search is for Gesture Search. Itching Thumb looks great but I need an option to override the long click Home (the default task switcher).

@pxtang: I use Weather & Toogle Widget [www.appbrain.com] ($ 1.99) with the H7C skin [www.appbrain.com] and http://www.appbrain.com/app/h7c-weather/com.androidapps.widget.weather.skin.h7c (both free and downloadable from within the app or via market). It mimics the HTC widget pretty perfectly. You can also add the

One more tip for those who don't want to root: AppMonster [www.appbrain.com] allows you to backup an app to your SD card and to get it back when you need it again. So you can keep it on the phone, not use it, but have it at your hands just in case.
