In Jelly Bean if you go to Settings->Apps->Currents you'll find a button to disable the app at the top of the screen. This should work for ALL preinstalled apps! No more bloatware!

I am on a Nexus 4 but battery life increased quite a bit after disabling Google Currents. Honestly I don't know why exactely because sync was disabled anyway but it worked. Maybe the background process itself consumed power nevertheless.

+1. FolderSync not only let's you sync to Dropbox but quite a few other services, too. IMHO the superior sync solution.

Red Bull is actually an Austrian beverage ...

Actually replacing an old fridge may be worse than keeping it. While the energy efficiency during the use in your home may lower your costs and your carbon footprint etc. the production of a new fridge and the (mostly) inefficient recycling actually has more impact on the environment than usage during its lifespan.

Thanks a lot! Seems like my info was old news ...

I overclocked my Raspberry by placing the line arm_freq=800 into /boot/config.txt - AFAIK this method works regardless of the OS you use. On my OpenELEC Raspie everything runs smooth with it.

I am also a premium user and I really like it. $12 / year is not much to keep the service alive for me and a few others. If you can shell out the $1 a month I would recommend to pay for the service and show support for the developers (plus you get the mobile apps).

I don't use Markdown since it's much more than I need. Whenever writing plain text I use _underline_, *bold*, and /italic/ - that's all I ever need.

In Bangkok my wife and me got a fantastic honeymoon upgrade from a "city view" to a "river view" room, a bottle of real(!) champagne, and a cake. The room upgrade was certainly the best because we had a great view over the Chao Phraya river glistening in the sunlight and downtown Bangkok beyond it. Perfect start for a

No. 1 tip: Say you are on honeymoon (given that you travel in company of course). No one will ever check if that is true but you will get nice freebies most of the time. If you already mention it when booking in advance more often than not a nicer room is granted. If you say it at arrival it is sometimes too late to

Thank you so much for pointing that out! You are so right! There should be like a lot more comments like yours.

We rent so there are certain limits for drastic changes.

The tablet version is easily worth the full price. I know the "cup-of-coffee" analogy is said to be bad but with Swiftkey it is money well spent and I would skip a coffee or two for it.

Don't laugh but here's my setup:

I love being able to rename multiple files at once by selecting them and hitting F2. A great time saver for whenever I have to rename like a movie and the matching .nfo, .sub, .idx, .tbn and/or .srt files

I tried both Rasbmc and OpenELEC and both are quite alright. Still Alpha/Beta stage so no complains from my side. But the Raspberry Pi itself seems to fail quite a bit as a media center - whenever I try to use "bells and whistles" like fanart or different themes images don't load or disappear. I figured it has to do
