They basically outsourced the drivetrain because they needed a compliance car. Marchionne famously hated it and hoped people wouldn’t buy it because they lost $14k on every one.

The 500e is roomy for the front seats only. The rear might as well not exist and the trunk is a duffle bag.

I have two colleagues who have 500e’s (one sold his and bought a Bolt, but I digress.)

“as shitty and expensive as they please.”

It’s also odd for the guys who keep saying that governments should just go ahead and ban all ICE cars right now can’t support giving the full tax credits for all EV cars to help increase EV adoption amongst consumers because, you know, it’s more important to support a union even if this very site has multiple articles

Agreed. I’ll file this headline away though for the next time a piece is published here sympathetic to protestors marching/blocking busy freeways in service of whatever cause is in vogue.

The overhangs on the Trans Am were always embarrassing for any car with sporting intentions.

Unless you didn’t have insurance, why would having this thing stolen not seem like the Universe had done you a solid? A less idiotic person would have reported it as being green with a white top to throw the police off the scent, not make up a horrific story to get it found faster.

No Deal- He should be charging LS

Exactly. This is nothing but a federal subsidy of unionized labor. It’s also pretty clearly an attempt to buy votes by the Democrats and shore up their voting base. Can’t say I blame them, I mean they’re politicians, it’s what they do.

I think a decision needs to be made on whether it’s more important to get ICE vehicles off the road and replaced with EVs or to back unionized labor over non-unionized labor. Yeah, southern states have ‘right-to-work’ laws and generally don’t support unions; but they are still American workers and taxpayers. While the

Then why do they need such preferential treatment from the government? If unions aren’t a disadvantage surely they can compete on the same playing field as all the automakers that don’t employ unionized labor.

There’s a SATURN COUPE on this list but not one single Rolls Royce? OK...

1990's Chevy Gladiator conversion. There is simply nothing with this kind of leg room and a bed

When you look at the costs in fuel and maintenance you are better off buying a luxury SUV and staying in a nice rental cabin nearby.

It isn’t like most RVs can really get deep into the wilderness.

I’m genuinely shocked at how usable the Mini back seats seem

it’s a fantastic comparison vs the Sorento

They oddly did the same thing with the Telluride, comparing it to full size, body on frame, SUVs based solely on its boxy appearance. An extra foot of length is a MASSIVE difference between cars.

I think your internal calibration device is broken. 185 inches is much smaller than 197 (6.5% shorter) [it’s also 4% narrower] , 3800 lbs is much less weight than 4300 lbs (13% less weight) and 27.5 mpg is much better than 23 (19.5% better mileage).

The difference between 197 inches and 185 is huge. They aren’t roughly the same size - they are in different classes.
