I daily drive a Ram 1500, and I love it, but every once in a while it’s just a little too big. Learning to back in to tighter parking spaces helps a lot. In AZ I almost never have a problem, but we stayed in Mission Beach in San Diego for a few days and it was definitely more of a pain. Used to have an Expedition EL,

I ended up with a Niro EV for $170/month for my daughter to drive.  Twice the range, more room, all around better car than the Ioniq.  I can buy it at the end of lease for $24k, which might make sense.

As recently as 2020 you could lease one of these for under $150/month, and buy a used 2018 for $12k or less. I almost did just to drive to work, but then I stopped having to drive to work. The range is too low for $20k, ND for me.

Can’t recommend the Niro enough - we get 275 miles on a full charge, the interior is really spacious and our EX is really well-equipped, and it’s legitimately fun to drive. Not one issue yet. I wish I would have gotten two back when they were dealing on them.

The cars we have right now came very well-equipped, but one easy and inexpensive thing I’ve done is to add wireless CarPlay dongles. So nice to not have to dig the phone out of my pocket and plug it in. Even better to not forget the phone in the car and have to go back for it. Besides that, window tint is a favorite.

I wish I would have gotten one of those in my Mini. Most of the time I drove with the top down, which helped a lot, but that would have been better.

Also live in a very conservative area - I think a lot of people understand how conservatives feel about EVs. I’d say easily 20% of my friends and neighbors here own EVs, and I can’t think of one that doesn’t also have a pickup. We have a Niro EV, which convinced a couple of friends to get them. Helps offset the

I got my dad’s ‘95 as a hand-me-down, and it was the first car I ever modified.  Great platform, and it served me really well for a few years.

I wish I had pics of these, but my dad had a number of different cars that I either thought were cool at the time, or think are cool now:

I’ll add to this that you can put on a bikini top and enjoy some shade while still enjoying the open air.

Here in the devil’s armpit (PHX), convertible season is more from October to May. The best summer convertible is something with a hardtop to keep the AC in and the heat out on the hottest days. Top down is a nighttime activity. My E93 BMW is honestly fantastic. Had a Mini before, and the AC just couldn’t keep up even

Less than a year ago I leased a Niro EV ($46k sticker) for under $200/month, with an effective sales price around $26k.  It shows 286 miles on a full charge.  Wish I could have gotten 3 right now.  10 months later, the lease payment is double but it doesn’t matter because you probably couldn’t find one.

That’s funny, I have an E90 (well, E93) too.

I own a Ram and I love it, but I see no reason for it to exist as a separate brand. I think the only way Dodge survives at this point is if they roll Ram back in.

I was waiting, until I figured out how much they’ll give me for my trade. I think the amount they’re willing to overpay me is more than what they’ll overcharge me. The struggle now is actually getting one. I have a deposit on a car that’s been sitting in a railyard in New Mexico for over 2 weeks waiting for a

Maybe I live in a more truck-friendly area, but my 1/2 ton full-size truck is an absolute joy to drive and live with. Compared to my friend’s new Ranger or my father-in-law’s new Tacoma, it is better in every way except fitting in the garage.

What I’m saying is there’s no way the front seats would look that good after 200k miles if they hadn’t been redone, so maybe they did it all.

I suspect the rear seats are “virginal” because the upholstery has been redone. As a current Ford owner, I can affirm that the seats wouldn’t look that good at half the miles.

Used to drive one of these - great choice. They’re quite roomy, and also decently fun to drive. Significantly more entertaining than a Prius. I think I averaged about 43 MPG.

That’s the reason I don’t even show my teen drivers how those things work.  Maybe after they’ve developed great habits, but for now I need them fully attentive.
