I’m sure there’s a price low enough for me to buy a duoselect car, but it’s much lower than this. I love Quattroportes, but it’s got to be the ZF.
So good to see that Toyota still knows how to build a good-looking truck. After the new Tundra, I was scared.

Glad somebody posted this - I was about to go look for it. If you’re middle aged and this doesn’t hit you in the feels, you probably don’t belong here.
My grandpa was a farmer, and I used to ride around with him sometimes. He almost never missed Paul Harvey. I remember seeing this ad and feeling all of it. I don’t think I’ve ever had an ad draw out such an emotional response. Though grandpa did like GM trucks.
Agree on the Mini. I had an ‘05 manual, and it never left me stranded or refused to run. It also never stopped leaking no matter how many seals I replaced, and always needed something, but it always got me where I was going.
I like my soft tonneau because it’s easy to roll completely out of the way and uncover the whole bed without blocking the rear window, where most of the hard ones either leave a panel in place blocking some of the bed or have to fold up against the window.
The Maxima you have pictured is actually a 5.5 gen. The 6th gen was the weird bucktooth model that was a big step backward. I had a 5.5 SE with the manual, and it really was a great car to drive. Had a 4th gen too, which was a pretty good car at the time but not as fun as the 5.5.
Neutral - I have a friend that bought a 500e basically as a glorified golf cart, and he loves it. It’s quite entertaining to drive, and roomier than I expected inside. The range is crap but he never drives it very far anyway. I think he paid like $6k for it (pre-pandemic).
I’m really interested in the “scrap if dropped” sticker on the subwoofer. Anybody know the story on that?
My friend made a car salesman cry last week because she took too long to pull the trigger on a marked-up Telluride (read: fat commission) and another salesman sold it. They get so few in that it’s just a race to see who can sell it first.
This dealer caters particularly to GM retiree snowbirds, and they’re usually one of the top-selling stores in the country. They treat their customers extremely well, and host all kinds of events for owners. They were a client, and I used to go by quite a bit, and there was always at least one that looks like this one…
I know a Buick dealer outside of Phoenix that puts that stuff on brand new and proudly displays it in the showroom. This looks just like one of theirs.
I love big luxury cars and questionable automotive choices, but somehow this just doesn’t feel special enough. I’d rather send myself into financial ruin with a Quattroporte or AMG Mercedes I think.
For a rancher/farmer, horses and ATVs are both tools that accomplish the same task - to get you places on your land that your truck can’t and maybe carry a few things too. Compared to horses, ATVs don’t bite or kick, they don’t eat when you’re not using them, they don’t get sick, and they’re far more obedient. Grandpa…
Have a boat and a pool - at least the boat only needs money when I use it. The pool goes unused most of the year but I have to keep throwing money in it so it doesn’t turn green. Horses are even worse - my cowboy grandfather got rid of all his the first time he rode a 4-wheel ATV.
I had one of those too. Could do 4 adults for short trips, and could also handle a pair of forward facing car seats.
Somehow BMW makes them fit. My ‘09 328i actually has useable rear seats (even more so when driven by my 5’0” daughter), and even the 1- and 2-series are passable. I’ve never understood why Lexus couldn’t do it.
I suppose I should take mine out and see how it looks, but I probably won’t. Live in a dry climate and have the tonneau on most of the time so not much gets in there.
