I put a $100 plastic liner in mine and haven’t thought about it again. First thing I did with my truck was fill it with crushed concrete from a post I had to remove to make room to park the thing.

I think the biggest reason is that Toyota doesn’t gear the Tundra towards fleet sales like Ford and Chevy do.
One of the big appeals of the outgoing Tundra was the cheap lease availability, at least on the SR5. Pre-pandemic, you could get one under $300/month regularly, and sometimes as low as $200.
Agree. I think it’s to highlight how much room is in a CrewMax (the backseat is HUGE), and because a Double Cab Tundra probably has more room still than a Double Cab Tacoma. The rear seat in the Tacoma is awful.
I really wanted this truck to be great, and it might actually drive great, but goodness is it ugly. The interior is an improvement, but well behind Ram or even Ford in design.
That’s the Tacoma. Tundra’s have used “CrewMax” since 2008, and the “Double Cab” has been the extended cab. Still has 4 doors, they’re just shorter doors.
It’s all about the sweet spot. Rivian actually loses range going from 21" down to 20" because the extra tire weighs more, plus I think it’s a more agressive tread pattern. They sure look good though.
I do a couple of 900 mile trips a year with the family. It’s usually 2 5-10 minute stops and 2 30-45 minute stops. With fast charging at each stop and 500 miles of range, I’d never even get nervous.
How much do you drink? I do it all the time with my wife and 4 kids, no issues. 200 miles is less than 3 hours. We don’t actually get gas in the 5 minute stop though because we have 550 miles of range.
My dad had one of these when I was around 5-6 years old and car-obsessed. I loved that car. It doesn’t seem like much now, but compared to our Opel 1900 sportwagen or Ford Fiesta it may as well have been a 6-series BMW. The overhead console was the coolest, but the whole interior was pretty special. I remember crying…
This was the peak of luxury and technology to 5 year old me.
I agree, if I was looking to build a serious off-roader, I’d definitely want a 2010+ 4WD. My point is just that enough people want all kinds of FJs to drive nutty prices on all of them. Mine went up $6500 in 3 years. For a teenager commuter vehicle with a little personality, it was perfect. Honestly, it hurt to sell…
I don’t like that either. I could write extensively on why the border wall is stupid. Not everyone sees the world through a lens of Democrat or Republican.
I don’t know, I just sold a 2WD 2007 with 115k for $16,500. In less than a day.
My wife and her friend have almost identical cars, but my wife puts more mileage on such that they’re about 20k apart now. We take pretty good care of ours, she not as much (sometimes I fix stuff for her). You absolutely would rather have my wife’s, and you would be able to tell before you even drove it.
There’s no snow where I live, but here’s an additional data point. I have a 2WD Expedition EL with all-season tires and a Ram 1500 4x4 with ATs, and a boat that’s around 5500-6000 lbs. Choice of tow vehicle depends on how many people I’m taking (prefer the Ram). I’ve rarely slipped a wheel at all in the Expedition…
I didn’t even consider Chevy when I bought my truck last year because a) the interiors were abysmal and b) I find them quite ugly. Now they’re uglier, and while the interior is better it still falls short of Ram and Ford.
At first I thought I wouldn’t like the dash knob on my Ram, but now I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can fit a 4-drink fast food carrier in my center console, which is amazing and much more useful than a shift lever could ever be. Better than pushbuttons too because I don’t have to look at it to get it right, and…
They’ll be the first to market, before the end of the year. MT has spent extensive time in preproduction versions and by all accounts it’s a legitimately great vehicle.
I’ll admit I was pretty anti-Chrysler for most of my life, but 1999 was 22 years ago and a lot has changed since then. My Ram is put together MUCH better than my ‘17 Expedition for example, and better I think than my also very good ‘20 Kia Niro. If I based my decisions on where an automaker was quality-wise in 1999 I…
