I thought the mention of the Queen Sacrifice was really cool. After Root's death, the chess metaphors sent me back to I-T-E and Harold specifically discusses sacrificing the Queen. I read Root and Elias' paired deaths to be Queen and Rook (who had castled the King, Harold, in his tower).
So then he sacrifices the

Without the Machine, the risk of all them dying is far greater. And Finch would be bringing the Machine online alone, without Root's help, in the post-Ice9 environment, which portends to be very bleak indeed.

Oh my, bless you LaToya! I didn't even think to look any earlier.

Yep. And he did not go smugly. More like a pratfall

Yeah, it is.

But we were shown enough to make that a valid conclusion. They had means, they had access, they had ideology. Skills and strengths, not so much.

Yes. I couldn't hear it but finding out later not only that it was audible but actual Morse code was whole extra layer of goodness.

I started Lost but after two or three eps gave up because I pretty much hated every character.
I had an intern who watched it obsessively. I enjoyed her recapping of it.

That would be awesome

Yeah, I know. Fingers engaged prior to brain remembering anything beyond "one of the eps I have trouble spelling"

But that was Shaw.

Damn I know better than that. Brain not fully engaged.

Oooh that has possibility

And the Root/Control torture scene in Aletheia just might be my favorite scene of the series. At least in the top 3. Mostly because of the ending when Root speaks for the Machine and Acker goes all ecstatic apotheosis. Control's response was fascinating too.

oooops Yes. Thanks pointing that out. Was thinking about the angel characters. Fixed.

The actress has loads of charisma and talent but it just seemed like Harper arrived too fully formed right out of the gate. Like she knew who she was but we didn't yet, maybe? It was off-putting plus the Thornhill connection gave her a heightened importance.

He's really having to step up and hold everything together in Finch's absence and with Root gone.

How cool was that fake out/SUV delivery of Shaw's mission cover just when you think Samaritan's going to swoop her up?

I think she should get to bag Greer too, to be fair. At least she got Lambert.

and arguably much less damaged than Team A
