Well…. you can get a (hilarious) taste of Santa Reese in the SimGM Christmas spoof. The POI snippet starts at about 1:40
https://www.youtube.com/wat…. (If you've never seen the other POI spoofs, they're great and there's already one out for 6741).
Spousal trivia note re Reassortment. Jenna Stern, the very accomplished actress playing Dr. Mason, is married to actor Brennan Brown, aka Agent Donnelly (RIP).
Did I look down my nose at the concept of fan service? Of course I did! Did I completely lose objective cognitive function seeing Amy Acker on horseback, as a ballerina, ninja caterer, meter maid, colonial era butter churning docent, etc. Yes, yes I did. I have no shame.
Ah yes, with little Summer Glau
Love that Root has to give Harold the Dutch attack command. He knows a lot of the commands but the inference I took is that he's so anti weapon (for now) he doesn't even know how to use Bear to attack.
He has just enough strength to perform the critical narrative task of calling Harold out on his hubristic baggage.
I've seen a number of folks on Twitter insulted by what they see as the POI PTB disrespecting Reese with that scene and other stuff. I don't have Facebook but I assume it's that same bunch.
As a Texan, I am extremely happy with how that works out. I grew up not far from Root's home town of Bishop, which is even more of a craphole than they made it seem. (Just my subjective opinion.)
Agreed. There's a lot of heavy lifting they leave for those in the audience who are motivated enough to do it. The show seems enjoyable enough for the casual low-curiosity viewer but it offers bigger rewards for repeat and/or obsessive viewers - those of us who are going to go back and rewatch the damned Ordos…
Only to be trumped 24 hours later by Root as a ballerina.
"That's all I know" + mic drop. Comedy gold.
I'm assuming the body count will be high. Reese seems like a certainty but maybe they'll turn that supposition on its head. Whoever it is, I think it will be heartbreaking.
He and Reese are shown fighting together against Samaritan operatives in the promos for the next eps.
Love that he took a stand and refused to continue as Team Machine Zeppo
Testament to Shahi's beauty and POI make up artists. Shaw simultaneously looking like death warmed over and still hot.
Shaw: "blah blah blah butterfly wing blah blah" — BANG.
I didn't bat an eye at that. I was far more skeptical about using a cheap printer to send a Morse code message from NYC to (as it turns out) South Africa, though my disbelief was immediately suspended by overwhelming #shoot feels
AND she had just finished a performance! Imagine the Machine's instructions. According to writers/director on Twitter, they were told to highlight Root's many cover identities and Acker is the one who suggested ballerina

there was also a tiny bit of fake out (I assumed it was intentional because the POI writers are so great about planting subtle unremarked upon expositional bits) when Fusco is with Bear in Central Park and Bear becomes distracted by a scent on a bench, as if he's smelling Shaw. WHO, it turns out, wasn't even on the…
