They’re playing the Berhalter system down there now too. Lots of meaningless possession with predictable attacks. Easy to defend against, easy to counter attack against. We need to eliminate this influence from US Soccer as quickly as possible.

No, because he lost game 1. The MVP will go to Strasburg, Greinke, or the Houston batter with the best numbers.
I assume the challenge in thinking is that there is also a revenge porn aspect. I can think it was bad that she had an affair with a subordinate and also think her ex-husband is a scum bag who should be prosecuted for leaking nude photos of her. But not everyone can hold multiple truths.
To me it’s is less in how inappropriate it is, and more the fact that she’s resigning while many, many men have held onto positions of power for doing far worse. I applaud her for doing the honorable thing, but also feel sad over the fact that Roy Moore got to stay on the ballot while being a pedophile. She also…
I’m really sad about this one. I only wanted the best for the freshman class and she seemed like she had her shit together.
Whenever I read about a celebrity and/or millionaire making a donation like Chance did to CPS, I think, wow, this person is truly admirable, and I’m grateful. These people are doing good things. OTOH, we can’t depend on one-time donations and rich people’s generosity to run things properly. So unreserved admiration…
This will be so confusing to future generations if history is lost.
Bloomington native representing, here. Like, I live there. I’m here right now.
I was getting Uncanny Tal’s Hill vibes the whole time.
“Closers” are dumb anyway, especially in the post season. You can get beat in the sixth inning, too. You use the best pitcher available in the biggest situation regardless of the inning. This article was an excellent write up of how the post season is different than the regular season. You never punt a game. You don’t…
Dave Martinez has been masterful in this postseason. Sure, the results make that easy to say, but given the constraints he has, his decision-making has been spot on, and if the Nats had lost the NLDS in 5 he still would have been right to use his assets the way he did.
If Anibal Sanchez can continue to look like an ace, the Nats may have a shot.
I often wonder who those are for. Bryce Harper? I’m pretty sure he’s okay with it, having become $330MM richer.
The massive favorite booking is puzzling. Houston is a great team, but you roll out Max/Strasburg/Corbin/Anibal in a four game series (plus 2 MVP level players on offense), you’re probably not getting rolled in four games.
That won’t work. Everyone knows the rich kids’ squad over at Maret won the city championship last year.
In New York City there is scant public park space. For example, almost every blade of grass in Central Park is off-limits from October to April. But some public schools allow the public to use their grass/dirt fields, playgrounds, and basketball/handball courts on weekends.
It is not. They donated funds for improving a a pre-existing public facility and licensed that facility. They certainly did not build their own field.
I’m not a Jets fan and not a fan of midseason firings, especially after a mere 6 games, but what the heck were they even thinking hiring the guy? He was mediocre at best in Miami and they’re going to entrust the future of the franchise to him?
It’s racist against white people to suggest that the 30% hit their stocks took in 2008-2009 wasn’t the worst suffering anyone withstood in that period.
Why replay the game? Should be automatic forfeiture....only way to shut these guys up once and for all.
