I managed to sell my 2012 MBP 6 months ago for about $800.  Mostly because it had 16GB RAM.  I then bought a used 2015 MBP for $900.  $100 for 3 year upgrade is a win.  Definitely consider an upgrade.

Glad to see another person upgrade the 2012 MBP to 16GB RAM.  It made a diff for me.  I since went to a used 2015 MBP.  Mojave is working very smooth.

One thing Emily:  During certain big events overseas, some of the US providers will allow free roaming.  This was big for me at the World Cup this year.  I used nearly 40gb of data during my week in Russia over 3-4 different Russian providers.  Works well and fast.  Thanks AT&T.
