I agree. One big difference between American style desert and rally racing and the Dakar is you don’t get to see the stage before you run it. The ASO provides each car with a “road book” that tells you what is coming and how much caution should be used when you get there.

I understand that the driver has to make a judgment call - in this stage alone there were probably too many to easily count - but if your co-driver calls it out as as ‘extreme caution’ and you think a slight lift is acceptable then there is a critical disconnect.

They wrecked dakar with that stunt.
