I’m not even a VW owner and think this person can go fuck themselves. Seriously just because VW duped consumers doesn’t mean the consumers are suddenly the bad guys too- and for the love of *insert deity* DON’T MAKE THEM OUT TO BE BAD GUYS they’re victims.
So everyone has officially forgotten that GM actually caused deaths right? And everyone’s concerned with Volkswagens morals, which by no means are excusable, but also are definitely not as substantially hurtful.
I’m not sure I see how this really affects the cars anyway. Real world numbers are what people care about for fuel economy. Look on any enthusiast website or group forum and you can get a good idea about the car’s performance. It’s not like this recall is a safety or danger thing. Okay, I guess in a bigger picture…
The successors would have sold better, but now the exclusivity is intentional: Audi brought in only 2,000 B7 RS4’s, and less than 1,500 TT-RS’s. Both had only a 2 year run (2007-8 for the RS4, 2012-13 for the TT RS) I live in South Florida, one of the world capitals for exotic cars, and I have seen exactly one other…
Seeing as how nobody outside of car blogs cares about this, they will be fine.

Mistakes were made, VW.
If only congress could be more like him.
Nice job VW. No irony, I think it’s pretty awesome.
“Strong emissions standards are in place for the benefit of public health” That from a GOP-led committee. That is rich.
Hey rememebr that time the country’s largest fuel company created the largest environmental disaster in this country’s history and no one was criminally charged? No? Ok. Carry on with criminal charges against VW for designing their engines to be compliant with a test that doesnt garantee compliance.
Now, now. The topic will switch to climate change because cars and fuel. Abortion will come up during the hearings about the number of combat ready troops in the military.
