The EA888 handles 350-400hp very easily on the stock block, hell the new rs3 is already in the 500hp range. Read this thread if you wish, http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35599

Agreed, the new wheel design is hideous, hopefully there’s other wheel options. The digital dash will be on the golf r and e golf though so there’s that.
I’m pretty sure I heard the ratios and gearing are going to be changed slightly, not sure how that’ll affect the car performance wise. A 2017 is probably a better option and a hell of a lot cheaper too.
Exactly, the biggest and most welcome change imo is the new transmission unless you’re going for the manual. Other than that your 2017 is just as nice and definitely looks better lol.

Wait until the 2018s come out, they’re receiving a 7 speed dsg and an updated manual as well as a bunch of other little things here and there.
Well, from what I’ve heard we’re definitely getting the newer 7 speed dsg, not getting the power boost to 300hp the top spec nav system or the performance pack, and the new led lights and a few othrr things might be slightly different than the euro model.
The Older 40v Audi V8s before the b6 s4 have Timing Belts in the front of the engine. Still not easy to change but better than the ones with chains.
A couple of mine:
The Clubsport comes with rear seats while the Clubsport S doesn’t which would be more akin to the new Type R.
Apparently they did develop it but shelved it because it would’ve been too expensive. The closest thing you’ll find to a vr8 is the w16 from the veyron, half of which would be a vr8.
The old mk4 GTIs and GLIs only have 8 less hp then this thing and can probably out handle it too.
It’s a 4 door golf actually.
It sounds okay, mostly like the stereotypical semi hi performance V8 sound. I might be the only one here who thinks this, but I like the sound of a nicely tuned 6/5/4 cylinder exhaust sound over most V8s any day.
Not really a big loss, I could however see vw bump the power on the normal golf r to 320-350hp when it comes up for a refresh pretty soon though.
You’re right, I’d like to see the Jetta version of this bad boy.
The 2.0t are really hit or miss, I’ve seen them make 700 or 800hp pretty reliably or in the case of your friend I’ve seen them blow well within their limits. As to the insurance company doing that, it doesn’t make sense to me. It’s not like buying a new or slightly used engine for a 2014 gti would be anywhere close to…
Well to be fair, anything bigger then a small turbo adds more sound then it detracts. Listen to some VR6 turbo cars and you’ll be hooked.
VR6+turbo is even better.
I’m pretty sure the engine used in that beetle is a tsi not an fsi
