I think there’s an honest conversation to be had about whether this individual is truly a goofus maloofus or more of a dorkus malorkus.

Was reading and laughing at same. Whether it’s Boing, Tesla, or Maersk many of the accidents are attributable to one thing: making money. Maybe it can get a little muddied when you introduce the idea of making money at the expense of safety compared to making money by rushing half-baked goods to market in an effort to

Came here to share your shock.

Yeah I keep reading articles referring to “Black swan” events and it’s like, no baby, that’s just late-stage capitalism. There’s only so much you can suck out of the husk before the well runs dry.

I’m absolutely shocked that cut-throat capitalism leads to under-maintained equipment, overworked employees, and generally unsafe conditions. Safety be damned! We have profits to maximize!

You never know. I tried to get signatures for a “no lizard people in public” policy and everyone laughed at me, they said lizard people aren’t real, but how do you explain MTG? huh?! We could have stopped this.

Did they remember the price has to be small too?

To be fair, you can bet the engineers have probably been thinking this since musky wanted a bulletproof truck.

It is gotta suck being a Tesla engineer. You pour your heart and soul into designing a project, and you have Elon’s deranged voice in your ear 24/7 constantly changing it, and you finally manage to get something onto the production line, your baby that you worked so damn hard on, and, in some ways, achieved the

>builds vehicle that appeals solely to attention-starved narcissists

Get a grip. BMW turn signal engineers manage to keep it together. Be more like them.

“Designed by idiots, for idiots”

The Nissan Altima is the obvious answer, but there’s another that I’ve observed in my commute: Dodge Chargers. They’re getting up there in years and don’t hold value. As a result, they’re landing in buy-here pay-here lots and being snatched up by idiots.

On this version of Earth, recognizing that civilians being killed on a daily basis is probably not ideal doesn’t make one anti-semitic or pro-palestine.

This is stupid ass bait and you should get your star taken away

Pretty much all so-called pro-Palestinian rallies really are conducted by people with anti-genocide leaning. It’s troubling to think that that ticks some people off.

If I did that to a cop car, every other cop would dogpile me instantly and I’d probably still be in jail.

Sounds like a textbook case of cops following their training to issue confusing commands and deploy questionable tactics.

Might be a dumb question, but I didn’t see it referenced in the post: What are the tires’ ability to actually translate the electric motor force to the ground in a way efficient enough to make this happen? (Leaving the compressed air thing out since they’re not directly driving the tires.)  I know top fuel dragsters

After welding stainless steel, and before bolting any other parts to it, you are supposed to degrease it and then passivate it with citric acid or nitric acid. This removes free iron from the surface and forces the chromium to form a protective oxide layer, thereby preventing the exact problem we are seeing with the
