Clydesdale?
Clydesdale?
These are SUV’s. Not Mustangs. Stop calling them Mustangs.
Imagine paying Elon $12,000 for the privilege of inheriting all the stress and danger of supervising a particularly risky and uncommunicative teenager driving you everywhere. If you didn’t have high blood pressure problems before owning a Tesla, you sure will in a couple of years!
Oh and as per Musk’s unhinged tweets yesterday he is going full Saruman and trying to breed more of them.
But, again, if I have a teen driver in the car, I am there to train the driver. I think we should have those testing the FSD there to train it, rather than offering the beta as a convenience feature. If you assume that every driver is hitting the report button (they aren’t), it still doesn’t provide the full context…
If I am sitting next to an inexperienced teen driver, I can tell them what to do, I am incredibly vigilant, and I will be able to talk to them about the entire context of what they have done. Importantly, I am there to train them, not just to ride along.
I’m reading what you posted before and you said
Those maps are NOT detailed, quite well enough.
Context clues change with the time of day, volume of traffic, weather and events that happen in between the last time that a camera car drove down a given road.
Redundancy costs money. Removing redundancies lowers costs, and vehicle weight at the same time.
This is just one of the several reasons why Self Driving Cars will not happen until we have fully self aware AI that can understand and observe context clues as well as a human being.
At which point... we get into ethically…
disclaimer: i am not a tesla stan and i am not a hater.
It’s bruh-stock investors worried about the money they have in Te$la stock rather than their mortgage.
While licensing is different everywhere and I don’t know where you are from, I’ll go ahead and say where I learned, and when I had my learners permit, it required me to drive with a licensed driver at all times and avoid certain roads/speeds/conditions until I was properly vetted via license test. So pretty much the…
The hearse drove itself to the funeral?
The biggest difference there is that it is accepted and understood that a human driver who is learning will require significant vigilance from the licensed driver with them. That is why I would want someone hired and trained to monitor/take over instead of the beta test situation.
Doesn’t a learners permit have to be accompanied by a licensed driver?
Learner drivers aren’t allowed to drive on their own either, and are generally pretty closely supervised by adults - at least one of whom is a trained professional whose entire job is to ensure that driver is learning the actual rules of the road.
If you have a learners permit you can’t drive unsupervised. Seems like a horrible standard for “full self driving”
Blasphemy !!! Doesn’t he know that Elon Musk is much better, smarter and richer than him ??
I bet that Tesla Elon Musk Fanbois think he doesn’t have any idea about FSD at all
I’m amazed no MuskFluffers commented yet, and it’s been more than 30 minutes since posting !
I know a man who trusts Tesla’s autopilot but doesn’t trust vaccines.
