“ You can’t say that ADT Home Security is home security, because all it does is call the police and bug you when a sensor is tripped”

If it was called ADT Intruder Executioner, then you’d have an argument. But what you’re describing is called

What pisses me off about Tesla is about the same thing as GM.

You’re responding to an author who regularly has articles about obscure tail lights... Your point doesn’t land well here.

This site is also realistic that Teslas are good EVs. Bradley wrote an article about how good the Model Y is as an EV. Jason wrote an article attributing Tesla for removing the public’s stigma about electric vehicles and making them mainstream.

it rankled me to see people attacking Elizabeth so vociferously

“Watching the full video, however gave a far different impression”

That being said, it’s an interesting case because the accident it’s self [sic] wouldn’t be covered if it wasn’t for the circumstances.”

They said the same thing about seatbelts and now the government has to regulate it. You can get a ticket for not using your seatbelt because people are too stupid to use advances in automotive safety technology.

The reason we aggressively cover Tesla wrecks that appear to involve their semi-automated driving system, Autopilot, is because we’re at a fascinating transition point in automotive development, and these semi-autonomous systems are a new factor in how we as humans interact with our cars.”

Many people are foolish, but when the company is actively misrepresenting the capabilities of the systems in place it makes it easier for that ignorance/foolishness/however you’d like to describe it, to come through.

Thanks for writing this out, Jason; I’m sure a thick skin is needed in web journalism (“web” was probably unnecessary there) but it rankled me to see people attacking Elizabeth so vociferously. A statement in the form of a standalone article is well-appreciated.

I agree that the two men were idiots, because they made a conscious decision to be in a moving car that didn’t have a driver. They were morons, and the collective IQ of society has ticked up as a result of their demise.

Um, that’s like, not at all the assertion being made in the article.

As it was explicitly spelled out in the article, there’s a a major difference with Tesla’s “level 2" from all other manufacturer’s level 1 systems:

Not to mention the numerous tweets from Musk that the cars are capable of driving themselves, the only thing holding them back is government regulations.

Oh, come on.  The name alone “Full Self Driving” is misleading and you know it.

Exactly this. It looks good compared to the last gen.

You mean the one that looks like it came from the factory “pre-riced?” Even in base trim.

I like it. In a world where every car manufacture is trying to be polarizing, its nice that Honda decided to dial back for the Civic this time around.

It looks about 500% less terrible than the previous one.
