I find it astonishing that Tesla isn’t being universally smacked around for the disingenuous/misleading marketing of “Autopilot” and “Full Self Driving” and the resulting apathy and irresponsibility of its customers.

That’s not correct on the platform. The independent rear suspension architecture is shared with several other Ford vehicles and has some shitty design for packaging & lazy ways to improve NVH that really compromises it for a sports car. The Camaro’s rear subframe and multi-link is way, way better. I own a 2015 GT, btw.

If electric motors had completely flat torque curves, you’d be right. They don’t need many speed transmissions but there’s a reason the Taycan has a 2 speed gearbox.

Gonna have to disagree there. Timing chains are in the wrong place and requires engine-out to service. Using a belt for the balance shaft is a huge mistake also. Good mechanical engineering is about more than making it work when everything is new.

Hey Ford...this is what you should’ve done with the Mustang badge on an EV.

Having seen how the sausage was made by working there in engineering, the Ford I own is my first and last. None of this is at all surprising.

Gonna have to disagree that the new Sonata is a sharp looking car. It’s sharp in the sense that it has a lot of....shapes.

You’re right. Orange man idiot, also.

Amazing, you mean that police are trained and positively reinforced to be suspicious of literally anything/everyone? Gee, I wonder why excessive force is so frequent a thing...

Oh man you teslaratis are funny.

Elon Musk has said publicly that Tesla will achieve Level 5 autonomy by the end of 2021

Volvo and Subaru aren’t using their customers for beta testing. They do actual validation.

The government didn’t put anyone on the moon. Boeing, Douglas, Grumman et. all did it with government money.

Ok the base 2.5L RWD is lighter than I thought at 3611 lbs. AWD takes that to 3792. The 3.3TT goes from 4000-4200, which is legit heavy. It’s still fairly porky for ‘only’ 300 HP, but for the size and practicality, not bad at all.

Yeah fair enough on the gearing. Closer to 3:1 or 4:1 gearing (like a 1st or reverse gear in a typical car) may have still been overcome, but would have created a pretty noticeable anchor at first.

Ever heard of compression? The engine compression should have made the tires drag.

Yeah exactly. I went through the entire article looking like this.

It’s really heavy for that HP level.

I’d absolutely own the turbo 6 version if it came with a stick.

That is astonishingly good politics.
