Yes but if you take the exact same tire (brand, type) of the same overall diameter, but vary the wheel diameter while maintaining more or less the same section width, you’ll see a decrease in economy from the package with the larger wheel. You’re comparing a true street tire on the 20" wheel vs. an off-roady 17" tire…
From an economy perspective, the wheel and tire combination with the lowest moment of inertia will have the best results.
Moment of inertia. Larger diameter wheels of the same mass as smaller ones take more energy to do the same work. Pretty simple, actually.
#1 reason I didn’t buy one. I really liked pretty much everything else. Unless you live in SoCal with some twisty mountain roads closeby, it wasn’t fun enough on regular roads. Here in IL, definitely not fun enough.
184 ft-lbs comes on at 3,700 rpm vs. 156 ft-lbs at 6,400 rpm for the old car, and flat torque after that. It’ll both be and feel much faster.
Interior is definitely improved. Digital cluster, nice-looking but simple infotainment.
I’d say the opposite. The old car you had to rev to 4-4.5k around town to just get it going. This one you could shift at 3k and be fine.
It’ll still rev to 7,000, so it won’t be a lump for revving out. I think 0-60 and subjective quickness will be significantly better (like dropping 1 full second or more).

What I just posted:
Crucially, the 184 ft-lbs comes on at 3,700 rpm (where the torque dip was), vs the 156 ft-lbs of before coming on at 6,400 rpm.
Ford’s not exactly nailing their launches these days.
You SOBs, you actually did it. Great job poking some big holes in the Bronco balloon with this amazing creation. It’s sad that even though the Coyote 5.0L fits, they won’t do it.
SODIUM CHLORIDE!!!
Elon, is that you?
A Formula E car is MUCH faster than any Tesla.
IMO, WEC/IMSA has done a much better job with keeping the cars interesting AND exciting to watch simultaneously. Being at Le Mans last year was a bucket list experience.
Because it is VERY easy to interpret what you’re saying as apathy for something like this, which isn’t that much better than being a driver of one of those trucks. I’m clearly not the only one that saw it that way.
Correction, we DO trust the polls, but we DON’T trust the electorate.
So??? WTF does that matter. It’s dangerous, illegal and deplorable.
