Not even really looking at the aftermarket cost. All those things you mentioned would be needed, and also would not add more than $5k of incremental cost, including the turbocharger and air induction system. It’s way cheaper (variable/piece cost) to engineer and build it like that from the ground up than to buy kits

You can partially negate the negative vehicle dynamics associated with more weight up front with springs, dampers and sway bars. The amount of weight required on that car would not drastically upset its handling balance or moment of inertia.

YUP! With a Corsa Sport catback, MGW shifter, it’s heavenly.

Good to know. Restraints and passive safety are one area of modern cars I don’t know a ton about (the detailed engineering of).

If you smack the wheel, good chance you could crack it, though. Agreed, hitting the tire would be a bad idea.

We don’t all drive in areas with amazing backroads just minutes away, either. Need some straight line fun too when you can’t go to the track or autocross.

When I was shopping I test drove two. Would’ve considered buying if it had some semblance of speed in a straight line. The handling is amazing, seats amazing, shifter and steering spot on. It was barely faster than the Accord (4 cyl) I was driving then. The FR-S at the time was $25k. I’d have gladly paid $30k for a

They’ve gotten VERY good at the excuses.

Flatten the tires wouldn’t be bad. Hitting the bumper really hard would be good, air bags.

These reasons are why I do not want to ride. Ever. I know all the great things about it, but too risky.

Correct question!

Guess you’ve never done any track driving or perfected heel-toe downshifting while on a back road. I’ve never met anyone who’s done those things and didn’t agree that they added significantly to the experience of driving a sports car around a bendy course of some kind. For outright speed or that extra 0.01g turning

We’re in violent agreement. All I drive is manual cars.

Um, how about FUN????

I’ve bought two new cars in the last 10 years. Both with 3 pedals.

Translation: I am not good at manual so I don’t understand the need for one in a sports car
Fun can’t be quantified. Super/hypercars don’t have them because bragging rights on speed is king, and honestly they’re a bit overpowered for a manual.

Front: Great. Looks incredible.

You opened your mouth and proved your ignorance (at best):

Indeed. Cheers!

Torque is the answer. The TT V6 has way more of it everywhere.
