That’s very true, and until/if the electoral process changes, likely their only function.

Found the troll!

They do suck, but much, much less than Trump. It would’ve been worth 4 years of them to avoid Trump. Not voting for them to keep Trump out of the WH is like drinking brake fluid vs. drinking moldy, disgusting stew. The first one will poison you, and could kill you. The second will make you throw up and you’ll be ok

Bingo. Nothing to add.

Exactly what I said...

That is hilariously stupid, and I am fairly left-leaning overall.

I’m really not sure I want the general populace electing judges. We get bad enough results in congressional and presidential elections.

Actually there’s fairly good criteria in place for when and when not to issue recalls. What you’re getting at is more whether car companies decide to spend that little bit more on improving reliability of certain systems/components, or not because the expected warranty claims are less the cost to implement it.

No one was honest with the rust belt folks. No one was going to tell them that their jobs aren’t coming back, that automation, not mexican labor, was the biggest reason for those losses. Obama said it, after the election was over, but no candidate said it. They did the typical politician thing, and told them what they

Hmm, I don’t know. If they simply made it so the popular vote allocated the electors proportionally, we’d be golden. I agree though, those sneaky bastards would probably try to try and make it by district.

I’m fine with the electoral college if every state goes to proportional electors. Everyone’s vote counts then, and small states still get a voice.

We (America) proved that we’re sorely lacking in intellectual capacity and the ability to think critically many times.

Thank you.

We need proportional electors in all 50 states. That would fix a lot of issues.

If you actually believed in your vote, then yes, because winner-take-all electors. If you voted Meteor 2016, then bravo to you good sir.

You sound mad. I agree Hillary sucked. Trump sucked a lot more, is sucking now, and will only get worse. The only people I’m annoyed with are those who regretted voting third party after the results were in, or who voted for Trump because “he didn’t mean what he said”. Fuck those people. Third party voting for

That’s fair. Let’s just hope the foundation isn’t rubble by the time we get a chance to win congressional and presidential elections. I don’t mean that literally, but that we’ll have gone so far from where we were on Jan 19th on many ideals that getting even back there, let alone where we want, is an impossible climb.

My theory on that is that the polling samples were based on ridiculously bad assumptions of who to sample. The fact that the polls were going after almost only people who had been previously registered to vote, or who had taken previous polls is maddening. Did they not see how many new people both Trump and Bernie

You can choose other. I’d rather fix the system to stop the two-party madness, but until it gets fixed, a third party vote for president is a throw-away. If you’re ok with that, fine, but if you’re unhappy with how the election turned out, consider that you may have contributed to that result. If you’re happy,
