@fillerbunny9: Well one of the best selling games of the platform was released within the first year, Liberty city stories, it's sequel came out the next year, another best seller. I don't think hardware sales is a really big problem, since it was released 5 years ago it's 58 million consoles, 19.5 of which in north

I used to actually have nightmares with Zombies in them, and after playing Resident Evil 4, whenever I had those dreams I would just grab a shotgun and open up on them. I believe this research is right, because now I don't even have them anymore (or at least don't remember them).

@Owosso: Well I agree with you that not every game pirated means that would have been a sale. But I'll give it a good percentage of them are. At least 30%. Some people use a lot of excuses to about why they pirate games, saying things like I want to try it before I buy it etc. But really there's no reason to do that

@fillerbunny9: There might be plenty of gamers over the age of 10 who play DS, but there's no doubt that the demographic for the DS is significantly younger than the PSP audience. Most younger gamers are not ripping off games though, you forget someone who is 14-15 will probably not be going out and finding an R4

@Kellen Dunkelberger: The console first mentality is there because it's harder for people to pirate the games. PC gaming is not what it once was, i used to be a PC gamer first and foremost, and still think that the gaming experiences on it are some of the best around. But big studios are putting more and more

@PS1: Well I found that the only real difference between the two was that the original MGS was harder. I mean graphics wise there was a difference obviously, but having played the PS1 version after, it didn't feel like a downgrade. That game is surely one of my favorites on the system.

These guys always have a great imagination when they make games and I commend them for that. It's sad to see a developer leave an exclusivity deal (I am a playstation fanboy). But Insomniac seems like a group of really nice people who will still do everyone right, their talent and creativity should be experienced by

@nick111: I think the dastardly ones are those people who pirate when with a customary search they can pay something to keep the developer going. Where Sony needs to improve is getting the games that people are pirating that you can't buy on PSN.

@Owosso: Read the post again, and see that I said I understand people who run emulators. But that I hate people who pirate games that they could just as easily buy. Just like the people who stole the humble indy bundle, they take money from the hands of developers, and in turn their families. More pirates means less

@Kellen Dunkelberger: And yet companies are putting harsher and harsher DRMs on their products, and people are up at arms at it. Why do you think they do that? It's because games like Spore were pirated 1.7 million times in the first three months. And it had a DRM. Less and less games are leading launched on the PC,

A lot of people on this thread have said "Sony is stupid for blaming pirates for poor sales" then most saying, "I have a hacked PSP".

@PS1: At the moment I'm stalled on 8 actually, I was a little JRPGed out and played some other games in the mean time, I actually review my games too, at PSoneclassics.com check it out if you'd like.

@nusli: They were trying to make it more "high class" I guess. There is barely any difference in the features, except the Go, has a great save state feature, and bluetooth support. But with a smaller screen and no UMD support, for an extra 80-90 dollars it's totally not worth it.

I think the coolest feature of Killzone 2 was the fact you could play it in any language you wanted. I thought the game was alright, but not as engaging as some of the other exclusives last year, like Infamous or Uncharted 2. I'll probably pick this up after the first price drop, I wouldn't pay full price.

I like the Kevin Butler posters in the back. While we're at it, I want a Kevin Butler dynamic theme.

@arionfrost: Hey, you have to be ready to play if you sit on the bench right? Amazing how they ringed an extra 8-10 hours out of the gameplay though, and I'm betting their budget wasn't as high as the PS360 version. Well done Ubi, well done.

You're totally right, having Halo exclusive to only the Xbox was really not a big boost for the hardware

Yes yes, I heard the Wii version is entirely different, with 15 hours of gameplay. Perhaps that's a better use of money.

I might actually pick up a copy when it comes out.

Alanis Morrisette? Odd... she must have a new album coming out at some point soon.
