Three questions:

Is this just made using their favicons? Wouldn't it have looked better to use something higher-res so they don't look like shit when blown up? Or is using favicons just how this site indexes traffic?

@lpranal: That's what they were implying anyway... which would just mean the same resolution/pixel density as the iPad (or something near there, depending on the size), which was why I thought it was pretty funny.

@orionburcham: That's not overzealous, it's completely nonsensical. The whole point of what I was saying was that putting a 960x640 res on something the size of a tablet doesn't make it a retina display.
