When I saw the original list I was scrolling down and when TT did not show up I was just assuming it would be in the top 10, which seemed reasonable to me. Somebody at AV Club really needs to explain why the hate? It got a B+ when it was first reviewed

"Fill your hands you son of a bitch."

I really hated the second one because Patsy Kensit's role was essentially "love interest who needs to die so Mel Gibson can experience greater angst." Instead of hating the South Africans for killing her, I hated the screenwriter(s).

Not enough Tropic Thunder.

No, it's Chris Pine and Chris Evans who are the same person. Hemsworth is someone completely different.

"Is it just because of Punk'd and Without a Paddle?"

How about Amy Acker in Person of Interest?

"I'd like to join you, but I have class tonight."
"Oh. How 'bout tomorrow night?"
"I have class then, too."
"I'll tell you what, then. Why don't you call me some time when you have no class?"

I know American Psycho is a polarizing piece of work (the book, more so than the movie) but I found it laugh out loud hilarious the first time I read it, and even though its pop culture references are pretty dated now I think it holds up pretty well.

Two totally different songs. The BMT version is a raw song about sex; the Elvis version is about a puppy.

Should I go back and re-watch the remake? When it first came out, I thought it was the least essential (to borrow AVC vernacular) movie of its year. Just a rote remake with none of the charm or elan of the original.

Hmm… would they have caught more shit or less shit for casting Tim Meadows as Nina Simone?

If Touch of Evil was the worst thing Heston had done in his life, America would be a better place.

"Straight as a corkscrew. Mr. Inside-Outski, like some goddamn Bolshevik picking up his orders from Yegg Central. You think you're so goddamn smart… Up is down. Black is white. Well, I think you're half smart. I think you were straight with your frail, I think you were queer with Johnny Caspar…" Poetry from Eddie the

"That's you all over, Tom… a lie and no heart." Ironically, at one of the few times in the move when he is telling the truth.

I cannot tell which movie you are referring to? I have it narrowed down to three, if that helps.

Please let it be Rick, if only because it would be interesting to see what these characters would do if they had a leader who was not a moron. Seriously, if they split up and one group was led by Rick and the other was led by Eugene, I would choose the Eugene group at this point.

As far as possible Reachers are concerned:
Viggo Mortensen > Nick Nolte > Natalie Portman >>> Tom Cruise

"I got an ant farm; them fellas didn't grow shit."

This review doesn't answer my one question about this movie, which is how candidly it treats FDR's post-Olympic snub of Owens. In terms of their reaction to this one man and his remarkable accomplishments, Hitler appears to have been considerably more gracious than Roosevelt.
