Though to be fair, Radetsky’s acting is far superior to Kent’s. Which is a lot like saying a child’s drawing of a bunny is more lifelike than a rock. But still. Kent is absolutely awful in Center Stage, thus her extraordinary ballet career will never be overshadowed. Whereas Radetsky is passable, even charming.

Also, I feel slight pity for Sasha Radetsky that a long and illustrious career as a soloist at ABT and a principal with Dutch National Ballet, and for a generation of us he’ll always be Charlie from Seattle whose girlfriend dumped him for going to study ballet in New York.
