I live in Seattle and used to regularly get emails to my work email from a white female patron of our arts organization that used Hawaiian phrases like ‘mahalo’ in the signature. She’d regularly tell us about what movies she wanted to see in our cinemas like we wanted help.
Everything with no shape basically says “I’m skinny enough to look good in a potato sack” or “I’m a whale” and there’s kind of no in-between.
the marzipan ritter bar is one of my absolute weaknesses
IMO most people who identify as nonbinary are at least engaged in the queer community where discussions of consent have a slightly higher priority than the straight community
There’s always a brief flicker of YES!!! NOT GIRL!!! and then it’s just like... dude, idek, that’s my name. I also know people who intentionally spell it Eddie even though they’ve seen how I write it (even like, internet friends who have never not seen it written with four letters) I think because they think it’s…
I imagine most people identify with one gender or another, so this probably won’t be a huge problem.
I really want this.
I really thought she’d be bi and was so excited to romance her. :/
Hey, maybe he just wasn’t comfortable being out as bi to your Ryder!
I was kind of guilty over romancing Garrus because I know that denied Tali that same love. I would adore a side story in a Bioware game where you get to set up a pair of squadmates on a date with each other and encourage their love - I think that might be even more fun than a player romance.
I also loved it because... I mean, in my experience, queer people tend to cluster together, and feel comfortable with each other. Of course a bunch of queer outcasts would hang out together despite obvious political differences.
Which is interesting because Cullen was intentionally designed to be a complete creeper in DAO and not a great guy in DA2, but I guess everyone was just thirsty for another Alistair or something and didn’t realize he had some unhealthy stuff going on.
I actually hated the romances in ME1 - I was nice to Kaidan a few times and then suddenly he was dating Shep? It was really weirdly rushed. The Liara romance seemed like it was probably a little better. ME2 had a much better curve and spread of options, even though I’m still baffled by Jack being male-romance-only…
Oh gosh, this happened to me. I was so deep in HZD that when I popped in Andromeda I just... couldn’t get into it. I think I’ll give it another go once this patch comes out, though, because I’ve been away from HZD long enough to appreciate a different kind of game.
I wasn’t the one driving the game, as I don’t really enjoy menu-based combat these days, but I watched my partner instigate several romances and none of them felt that compelling to me. Anne’s romance was sort of straightforward, the teacher stuff was incredibly creepy. The one that I watched that I liked was the…
I wasn’t a huge fan of the way they were writing Ivy beforehand - the idea of a street kid being picky about eating dairy products struck me as odd, and she was a little bit of a mouthbreathing stalker - but this does not seem like the right direction to me. I love Isley as a first and foremost brilliant scientist!…
I love it more because it is flawed.
There’s kinda a weird flipside though - I dated a guy whose whole thing was eating me out, and like... it got creepy. I’d rather get some intimate treatment than that being the focus every time, because even though I got off, like, a lot, it made me feel like a weird fetish object and like I needed a shower.
When you don’t have as much disposable income, and you have to spend more of it on grooming, it means you’re more financially vulnerable and willing to accept your “place” in the patriarchy! It keeps women dependent on male partners for income and makes sure that they’re more likely to be the ones to drop out of the…
