CA has more murders than any other state

He’s parroting GOP talking points about California.
We have a large population of illegal immigrants in San Francisco too. I know quite a lot of them, and EVERY SINGLE ILLEGAL immigrant I know is a white European woman with a masters degree or higher.
Santa Barbara...
The title is misleading, because it says prices are skyrocketing due to demand. That’s not true.
I’m currently living with that bad air quality, and while it’s a reminder that things suck right now, it’s also a temporary thing. Fire season will end. I’m just saying that there are likely bigger factors at work here than just the fires.
This is exactly my point. If you were to look at costs for moving out of California prior to the fires, the prices would likely have been just as high.
THIS, 1000 times THIS. The pricing on moving vans has always been this way. This is not some BREAKING NEWS, it is seriously more of the same. Ask anyone who has moved here(California) or moved out of state in the last 30 years....
Not just stupid, but confident and stupid! A winning combination, sir. Please accept this honorary award.
Wow you’re doubling down on this huh? FYI virtually every statistician in the world would disagree with you.
stupidly, stupidly wrong
Now normalize for population. CA is, by far, the most populous state.
say what? Percentage doesn’t matter to you? If I had a choice between living somewhere where 500 people are murdered every year but has 100,000 people or a place where 250 are murdered every year but has 10,000 people, I sure as hell would choose the 500 murder place.
Measuring almost any stat in absolute values rather than per capita is dumb. People care what THEIR CHANCE of being murdered is, and that’s a per capita question. If there’s a town of 1000 people where 100 are murdered a year, or a city of 1,000,000 people where 101 are murdered each year, where do you want to live?
Their food is serviceable, but their cherry limeades are a complete revelation on a hot summer day. The fact that they use real limes and lime juice...and yes the ice,* it all adds up.
Its been this way for a long time. There is surge pricing now for sure but it has always been far cheaper to take an out of state moving truck into California than to take one out. That has been the case for a decade.
No one’s going to flag your stupid post. We’ll just tell you how idiotic it is. Do you have an open mind, at all? or this just a quick waste of my time:
Hey Erin, there are 7.753 million people in the Bay Area. I’m sure you’re even connected to a few on LinkedIn. Since you didn’t ask them why people are moving, I’ll fill you in.
It’s almost like you have your head up your ass.
This likely has very little to do with the wildfires, and more to do with the fact that people are moving out of big cities in general. A lot of people in the Bay are working from home, some for the foreseeable future. If you’re working from home, you don’t need to be close to your office, so suddenly spending $3k/mo…
