I have not done the math myself. I was relying on the statistic cited in the first line of this article:

For me, plastic wrap is #1 in the category of things for which paying for the brand name is worth is. Cheap cling wrap is horrible and I end up wasting much of because it wont stick and I need to use enough to wrap all the way around the container instead of just the lip. Buying legit Saran Wrap ends up saving me…
