I’d say more like a fifty-cent piece and a quarter for a scratch off with two of the spaces already scratched and an expired McDonalds packet of non-dairy creamer.

Flying over the tip of Greenland was an unexpected bonus of visiting Iceland. Pretty spectacular landscape and more different shades of colors of water bodies than I have ever seen in such close proximity.

I tried to resist Iceland (because seriously, everyone in the world has been there, fuck that)

“More deer per square mile than people.” Pretty sure that’s true just about any really rural area in the non-desert, non-alpine US. Certainly is the case where I live in West Virginia.

It seemed that way. We just had our first and have talked about taking him there in a year or so for a nice camper van tour. We didn’t make it up to the westfjords (not going to check spelling right now) last time and would really like to check that area out.

I didn’t say that any of your experiences didn’t happen to you. Just that they didn’t happen to me and I didn’t see them happen to anyone else, so maybe they’re not actually representative of most people’s experiences visiting the country. And parts of your statement, e.g. “the beer is all 2% alcohol”, are

C’mon, man. No need to lie. Everyone knows the Chuck Norris bar hits you, not the other way around.

Kinda sounds like you were disappointed that it wasn’t just like the US?
In my experience, the people are very friendly*, there was great beer (Einstock, Kex, etc.) at prices that would not induce any shock in a NYC bar, no one who lives there actually eats whale, horse, shark (that’s for the tourists), the seafood

Yeah, I would say that while the culture isn’t super-outgoing towards strangers (partucularly in the more rural areas, just like the US) everyone that I actually got a chance to talk to was quite friendly.

That part of the comment is not accurate at all. They actually have a few very good breweries that make beers with normal alcohol levels. I recommend Einstok, which has a nice lineup of beers (~5-8% abv) that you could get pretty much anywhere in the country. Or if you’re in Reykjavic, check out the Mikkeller

Yup. And saved a couple million dollars in the process.

Drummond is, unfortunately for the Pistons, just not that good. He’s got the tools to be an incredible roll man and a defensive stopper, but he is neither. He’s actually pretty bad on defense, other than occasionally blocking shots from the weak side. His post defense and rotations are terrible. He is an extraordinary

Right? With Williams and Gordon, Rockets have probably the two leading candidates for Sixth Mann on their team. That is some serious scoring punch off the bench, as they say.

I’ve looked at the regulations and it isn’t legal for you to consume your own booze on a plane, but most crews won’t say anything (or simply won’t know) if you’re discreet. It’s not like they’re gonna try to smell your drink once you get t poured in. And it’s not something they’re gonna haul you off the plane for if

The dreaded bacon-neck.

“Pretty crappy, from top to bottom,” is an accurate description of this year’s B1G (god that is the stupidest thing to type, much less say).

Lack of transparency is a major problem under both parties. Obama was particularly bad in going after whistleblowers, especially given his campaigning on open government. The difference between the two administrations is the severity of the deeds they have tried to keep secret.

That and Bob Barker in happy Gilmore are definitely the first two that cam to mind for me.

This quote from Oak after the incident makes me think at least double digits would be required: “
