Yeah, exactly. Backlash city. Swirl in the requisite teenage rebellion and it would be pretty rough. I'm pretty impressed with him now, though!

I hope it's not a penis imprint. It's sort of... curly looking? Unexpected.

Does anyone know how this affected SGK's donations? I have a crazed neocon friend whose Facebook I only check when I need to know what the crazed neocons think about a controversy, and found this: [dailycaller.com]

Then I'm going to go ahead and blame the decision to burn down the burrow on that, even though it's unreasonable. I hated that!

I bet it's also pretty unsatisfying to be doing your sixth, seventh, eighth movie in a series that you got into when you were twelve. Talk about having no control over your career.

Thanks! I've been wondering what an ethical alternative to SGK would be.

The past couple of weeks have been crazy busy, and I guess I can pretty much expect that for the next year or so with grad school. But damn, I am tired and oversocialized.

I guess I wasn't really clear. Sorry; it was late.

I'm not saying that you should behave differently or not feel threatened at the risk of seeming racist. I completely understand and agree with what you're saying, and male privilege does exist across race. I'm really sorry that you've been assaulted and harrassed, and in no possible remote way was I swaying you should

That's a really good point, and probably one of the most effective policy-based changes in attitudes you can try to implement. Making homophobia, rape, misogyny unacceptable, espcially starting at a really young age, might prevent some of the "But it's just a joke!" or "You're too sensitive, we've always said this!"

James McAvoy all hot and bothered... Ryan who again?

With regard to the racist thing:

Because I have had a near-insatiable appetite for Backstreet Boys gossip since 1997, I clicked the link wherein A.J. looks quite nice in a goth tutu.

That's not really true. You can be high-functioning and still meet the criteria for schizoid personality disorder, narcissistic, anti-social, etc. That's true of other mental illnesses as well, although there are some that are only "disorders" if they're personally distressing. For instance, hypoactive sexual desire

It'll be interesting to see what denominations are included, and how many of them are in churches that even allow women to be ministers. Baptists tend to absolutely lose it over that stuff, so although it's antiquated, there are plenty of churches who are 100% firm on men only being pastors. Have fun in Sunday School,

It's like being in a special club. Captain Navarre! Swoon.

Apparently my mom saw it in the theater when she was pregnant with me and had it on VHS, and when I was about 9 I watched it and fell in love. Thank goodness I didn't have the internet yet, or there would be some Mouse fanfic floating around out there...

Hearted because I don't think I've ever met another person who's admitted to having seen this movie. I adore it, though.

Not only that, but he implied that Blade Runner isn't awesome. Fool. Although Rutger Hauer's seminal work will always be Ladyhawke to me. I don't care if it's objectively a terrible movie.

It's not right, but it's also not in the nature of politics to be able to take the high road all the time AND actually achieve things. Unfortunately.
