I took everything that wasn’t nailed down but no, they’re not stocking you for the next several weeks and not all of it is thoughtfully designed for usability. Also depends on the hospital.

I got my first birth control prescription there; my mom didn't have faith that the doctors nearby would keep their mouths shut (she was a nurse). I donate when I can.

There is zero regulation for preparation of vape liquid, so I'm not sure actual "safe standards" even exist.

True, but I wonder if there’s less downside to running if you’re one of a couple dozen losers, and she’s increasing her name recognition and policy priorities in the meantime.

The point is that the people who will be most hurt by this (i.e. people living and working in metro Atlanta) are not the people who voted for the evil bastards who did this. It’s not a punishment for the politicians or even for rural voters. In fact, running them out slows Georgia’s slow but steady drift to the left,

This happened near me a couple months ago. Man dropped off a package that should have been delivered a couple houses down to his neighbor, went right back home, and the neighbor’s (white, adult) daughter called the cops. Fortunately he wasn’t hurt, and the neighbor was at least dragged on Facebook. Extra great because

Yes, this. I worked on a project looking at tobacco control policy, and sometimes tobacco lobbyists & supportive politicians would only weakly push back on a small tax increase or weak restriction because they knew no one would be able to touch the issue again for decades, even if the policy didn’t scale.

Right? They’re speaking out because it has became abundantly clear that they may not survive to become adults, and for the most brutal and unnecessary of reasons.

I feel this one pretty regularly too :(

Is there a word in some other language that captures the feeling “I always hated this guy, and I feel both sad and smug knowing they are the trash heap I suspected they were”?

I feel embarrassed now which is unfair because this video is not my fault.

Yeah, this is very weird. It might help if she (and others) stayed in her lane. She has a lot of messed up opinions about things that don’t affect her at all and that she doesn’t seem interested in understanding. Take a pass already.

I just got a promotion this week (really a pay grade and title adjustment I asked for a year ago and gave up on) on the day before I was planning to tell my boss I’m pregnant.

Yeah, I have zero trouble believing that someone who rose up the ranks in a corrupt, abusive organization has committed abusive acts, even if he did eventually leave. They’re probably correlated for a reason.

Children of Dune was my gateway McAvoy. One worm-scaly shirtless pic in a Time review and it was all over.

My guess is Andromeda ended up being one of those projects, and this wouldn’t have added much more on its own.

Ugh

I don’t know anything about Bluestein’s personal politics, but the AJC is a deeply mediocre, solidly conservative paper headquartered in the northern suburbs of Atlanta and his writing reflects that. I wouldn’t consider him publicly part of any definition of “the left,” in any case, so it’s all the more disturbing

Not yet, but I intend to! I was mostly familiar with her from NPR, podcasts, and general internet.

I saw Tig Notaro in Atlanta a couple months ago and one of her jokes was that Jenny Slate was there as special guest but Jenny Slate was NOT there and she laughed and laughed because why on earth would she be in Atlanta!?
