No, no, no way! He isn’t even slightly attractive.

The gynae that I saw made a huge deal about ectopic pregnancy and it’s risks but that may have been because of my history (I am very fertile) and because I wasn’t able to use the hormonal IUD I’d had previously anymore, and other forms of contraception weren’t working so well for me. I’m unlikely to get pregnant again…
Yes! Being a ‘misfit’ to a certain extent, I can see the pull of love bombing (and I have had it tried on me) but I am too suspicious (“why would they want *me*? I suck!”) for it to take affect. So I always wonder why it is that other lack that.
I think it’s like a drug, for the leader. He gets attention from his followers, which is awesome, but after a while he needs more and more adulation/devotion to get ‘high’. So the demands become crazier. And on and on it goes.
Yep. And this (among all the other red flags) gives the lie to the idea that they are voting ‘for the welfare of the unborn’. Some of these abnormalities will mean the baby, once born, will have a very short and very painful existence.
And yet those millions - women hating as they are, you can’t be for banning abortion and be pro-woman - they are still the minority: https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/10/17/nearly-six-in-ten-americans-say-abortion-should-be-legal/
They may, but they are wrong, and that is something that every intelligent person needs to fight against. I mean, don’t most Americans also believe that religious conviction is important in a politician (I remember seeing some sort of poll where they wouldn’t vote for an atheist, or some such nonsense). They also seem…
Yes! My mother had an abortion. She says the hardest part of it was getting it in the first place. She was relieved and it’s not a big deal to her. But she has felt strong pressure to be upset. It’s bullshit.
Every abortion does not harm a human. A large percentage of pregnancies end naturally before the child is born. They harm a *potential* human, not a real one. It is banning abortion that harms *actual* humans - every banned abortion has a victim.
And pointing out that this belief requires it’s supporters to believe that women are not fully human (the fetus trumps the woman) is also not trolling, it is discourse.
This also has the potential to impact on women’s health choices other than abortion. For example, I had an endometrial ablation to combat heavy menstrual bleeding. I essentially have no womb lining left. If I do manage to get pregnant it will be ectopic and the fetus will not survive. I can see the argument being made…
Same in New Zealand. They have access to guns if required but frontline/’normal’ police don’t carry them.
Fuck you. In my country, two ‘backwoods’ cops managed to take down and arrest the heavily armed and clearly dangerous Christchurch mosque shooter without firing at him, let alone killing him. I hardly think a pregnant 45 year old is much of a threat. Just face it; the USA is a failing third world county (violent and…
Yup, and surely hot coffee is more of a ‘hazard’ than breakfast? But either way, fuck this writer woman.
You’re either a man or a good looking woman.
Really though? He’s below average. I can’t image many women going there.
Yes. I’m pretty damn ugly (and a woman, so being ugly is a double sin). I have a long term partner, kids, a full time job, a university education, etc. Being ugly has definitely shaped who I am as a person to a certain extent, but it’s also made me more compassionate towards others and more willing to forgive others…
And the schlub is only ever the guy. It mirrors real life too much for me to find it funny or uplifting; the woman needs to be perfect, beautiful, accomplished and amazing; the guy just has to turn up. And we women are supposed to be happy with that.
No. The rise of the incels, etc was fueled by the continuous theme of the last couple of decades of films - and again seen in Long Shot - that unattractive men can get the most beautiful of women. Notice how never, not once, is there a movie where the opposite is true. I’m so sick and tired of this bullshit.
It’s realistic though. The jock never stays with the geek/nerd. They’ll use her, but that’s it. I never bought Jaime’s ‘redemption’ though, so I may be biased. But I think he’s exactly the kind of character who would play with Brienne’s emotions.
