How about because the movie looks like it might be fun?

ok I mean we were just trying to keep it “fresh” but like the paint was SO COLD and we were very concerned we were going to get Gold paint all over our rented apartment floor so we had like flip flops on and it was like awful just trying to get the D in when I’m like shivering. plus, maybe this is just an “us” thing

The worst part is, even with it being proven fake, even with the people who created it being sued, and even with people turning themselves in. They still won the war. That video has been used- and will continue to be used to attack women's rights.

FAS requires sustained exposure to enormous amounts of alcohol, it’s not something that happens after a single bender. I’ve known women who managed to get in 10+ nights of heavy drinking before they realized they were pregnant (and then quit) who still had healthy children.

Almost every woman I know who has had a baby, planned and unplanned, drank and even did drugs and smoked unintentionally during their first few weeks and every single one of them has healthy children who don’t have FAS. It must say something about my friend group, but I seriously can't think of a single person I know

Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME? Okay, I’m day drinking today. Whose with me?

Innocent people have died when someone called swat, see Bettie Jones. It’s been proven deadly, no need for the qualifier.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can try to “stand up to something” and “prove them wrong” by acting in the exact way they are being accused of. “Women are claiming we harass them, I’ll show them through, oh I know, a campaign of harassment. That’ll prove my point, I’m a freakin genius!”

In a similar but unrelated note, I now bump into men who walk right into my path instead of moving to the side as we pass on narrow sidewalks.

This shitty post that you responded to with more politeness than what was due, is exactly the example I needed on another comment thread where some guy was all “well, if she didn’t remove herself from the scenario, isn’t she at least a little at fault for the rape that happened after?”

You did nothing wrong. You explained your position in a way that was not offensive. This person clearly is more concerned about his own feelings, (boo hoo it makes me feel bad that a stranger thinks I may be dangerous), than that the woman’s fear response is based upon her own experience dealing with male strangers.

“Fuck you. I have as much a right to go to my room as she does. Which is what happened as soon as she realized she was being crazy.”

ugh, i had a big discussion about this with a fellow redditor and it annoyed the shit out of me. his argument was that by being cautious we were unjustly “treating them like criminals”, that some guys were like that but not most, not him. i explained that we aren’t assuming that all guys, or most guys are, or that he

“Treating humans like humans would be a good first step.”

That’s kind of what women have been asking for this whole time (read: all of human history), and exactly why women are fearful in the first place. Because, in the ways that matter on a societal level, we don’t get seen as or treated like we’re actually equal humans to men. It’s nice if you treat women differently on

It’s pretty clear. If she thinks he’s a nice guy, but he’s not, she risks being stalked, raped or killed. If she thinks he’s dangerous, but he’s really not, the worst thing that has happened is...nothing, really. He keeps saying he was treated like he’s a rapist, but what did she really do? She gave him some side-eye

Not to mention if she’s in a hotel, she’s unfamiliar already with her surroundings. When I have been a single traveler, I am always hypersensitive and alert. when I read his post, I was feeling so bad for this woman...we have all been there—chances are she was saying to herself, “I’m sure it’s fine...but what if it’s

I just want to remind everyone that even if you have not experienced violence or harassment due to rejecting unwanted advances you absolutely know someone who has, this is as horrifying as it is common.
