Yeah, and Lexus would never work, Budweiser isn’t American any more, yatta, yatta, yatta.  Most consumers don’t give a shit about that, all they want is something they like at a fair price.

It’s still great as a fair-weather driver.  Looks nice enough that you won’t get wet in the rain, but it isn’t so nice that you’ll feel bad driving it to work in the rain.  Sure, nice enough you’ll have to store it over winter (if you get winter).

Throwing an early-year squarebody front clip on isn’t the end of the world, and does wonders for making it look better.  I think you need hood, fenders, grille, and maybe a radiator support.

Too many people think NP/CP is if they’d pay that much for it. I thought the point was to vote on if it was actually a fair market price. Blazers are hot right now, even late model post-refresh squarebodies. $19,500 seems like a market price for this, especially given the condition of it.

Uhhh, what? This (if well executed) is one of the best moves VW has made in years. Scouts are cool, off road things are hot right now, trucks are hot right now, EV’s are hot right now... what am I missing?

Making the cars smaller is one of the primary goals of the next major regulation shift.

Batteries don’t store electricity. They create a chemical reaction that produces electricity.

Yeah, if there’s going to be some way for me to prevent my car from being used to support the grid, it’s worth a somewhat hefty investment to do so. A car is the second most expensive thing I’ll ever buy after a house; I’m certainly not letting some corporation put wear and tear on the most expensive component of it

There are times where it is beneficial to be a “good teammate” though, and this was certainly one of those times. I agree with your general gist that teammates are competitors first and foremost, but let’s not ignore the benefits to helping your teammate.

I agree with you, but I’m also a bit confused, because Reuters specifically uses the term “cost of goods sold” which is a well defined term. So, it has me wondering: Is Reuters using the wrong term or is something that fucking crazy at Rivian?

I’m not sure it’s a dead end, but it certainly should be taken with a huge grain of salt and a lot of context.

What about the THOR 5F? If that’s the one you are implying is simply just a scaled down male, I don’t believe you are correct. It’s proportioned and designed after the 5th percentile female, which is quite small.

Same here, though I would place my hatred for Tesla design choices (no gauge cluster, everything is on the center screen with touch buttons...) slightly above my desire to not support Musk.

The first generation Navigator kinda messes with your timeline a bit. Yeah, the Navigator quickly fell behind the German automakers, but it pre-dates BMW and Audi’s entry into the SUV market, it was only a year behind the M-Class (the G-Class wasn’t considered luxury back then).

I’ve owned two Saabs and was a huge Saab fan. I’m well aware of the models they have made.

Not sure I buy that. A lot of your A/B versions aren’t very close. Sure, the 8th and 9th gen Accords are very close, but the 10th and now 11th generations aren’t close at all. Same with the 11th gen Civic; it isn’t close at all to the 10th gen.

I don’t see it.

I can’t think of a single Saab that looks like that in the rear... I’m including their planes too.

I’m not sure it looks great. It certainly isn’t ugly, but it is bland. It somehow reminds me of the anonymity of the NMS Passat. Honestly, I prefer the 10th gen. While the 10th gen has some oddities to it, it as a bit of commitment to something more than blandness.

A C-5 only has roughly half the lifting capacity of the An-225.
