Yes, with FORGED bottom ends. The Lightning trucks got quite the rep for shitting bottom ends and running over their cranks and THIS motor is based on that one - supercharged and all. Ford found all sorts of weird things when they began durability testing for the GT to include an exploding balancer that tried to exit

I say we find you something faster than a 13 second POS, put it on ET Streets or other drag tire, and let you try to rip off an 11. When it start wiggling around on the top end and you shit yourself perhaps you'll have a little more appreciation. Or maybe we'll get lucky and you'll do something foolish and find out

It wasn't that stout in the truck that's for sure. The GT40 saw a pile of improvements to it.

Most people haven't ever looked at the video that closely but when you're trying to figure out what went wrong you do really have to look. For sure the video is REALLY crappy! I find it interesting that despite multiple cameras visible in some shots that no other videos have come out to try and justify the biker's

I had to look around too and to be honest even the hi-Rez version sucked. I resorted to downloading it and putting it into a video editor to look most closely. You can check my post history to find where I've posted time stamps and a description of the guy who approached the passenger side and who can be seen more

Watch it again, better yet download it and go through it frame by frame. A split second before he hits the gas someone slaps the passenger side window with what looks like both hands and then is brushed back as he hits the gas, white helmet if I recall correctly. I've posted about this a few times, it's clear in the

You will still pay the P-tax for some things though. The radiators up front, the crappy ignition switch, the truly baffling fuel tank with the octopus plumbing, and the trim pieces that cost a pile should they need to be replaced. Overall though I would vote this NP for sure - and did!

Stoplight battles are what matter to most people not what they might see in a video, read somewhere, or watch someone else doing. When you pulled up next to a Camaro at the light and beat him it's what mattered to most folks.

4100?! Holy crap - it needs all that power just to keep up, yikes! I'm sorry but that's disgusting and while an interesting vehicle with a good powerplant it's wasted hauling all that lead around.

While it's true GM often had more power they often had more weight too. In the stoplight battles I took on in a 5.0 LX my car didn't have many issues with Camaros in that era. Few cars remained stock long though :-)

4120?! I had no idea the ZL1 was THAT fat! I've driven the 13 Cobra and it too was fat as can be. All of that power and all of that weight results in nothing but wheelspin - ugh! That they could remove mag ride and the blower and only get back 64lbs is pretty bad. If that 64lbs is off of a base Camaro then it's STILL

Pig is right. The ZL1 weighs what, 3700lbs? They took out a whopping 64lbs?! No supercharger right? Ti rods? Interior is stripped down and it doesn't have the mag ride? This resulted in a whopping 64lbs? From a 3700lb car? I'm not sure what planet these guys are from but I'd like to see something in the 3100lb range

I drove one of these! 6cyl 4spd and it was actually somewhat quick for it's day. the funny thing was that anytime something would break we would take it into the dealership and find out that the problem was subject to a brand new recall. My recollection was that these cars had more than 11 recalls or more on them. It

580HP and 3700lbs++. The HP number is impressive but it's towing a pig around. I'd take 350HP and 3300lbs and be waaay happier!

Nice! Now, how much does it weigh?! I had the opportunity to drive a '13 Cobra for awhile not too long ago. Engine was awesome but it was SO damned heavy. All of that power sounds really awesome but could we pretty please have it in something that weighs say 3300lbs? I don't care if it's GM, Ford, or KIA - fat cars

Actually I'm just stunned that lately cops are actually being arrested for some of the things they do rather than having it swept under the rug. THAT is impressive. Mind you in this case it had to be caught on videotape and it took days but still it's pretty amazing. Now what would have been REALLY amazing is if these

I think you meant to reply to the guy above me - but I too ride bicycles. I've stopped doing it on the road though after nearly being run over by an SUV one evening. I had multiple lights on and that road was normally very quiet - that night it was busy suddenly. After nearly hitting me - wearing dayglo and multiple

Equal chance of a mauling? Not so, not by a very long shot. I've been to these events when I was younger, staged in auditoriums where the chances of an accident were far far less - and no incidents occurred. Went to at least 5 of these, no issues, no injuries, not even much in the way of breakage. It was fun and yes

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes...

Sure we do, they came upon him in traffic and singled him out. They wanted to close the road in front of him and the driver of the bike who stopped in front of him was looking for trouble. The cameraman was near the lead of the pack, you really think anything happened prior to him getting there? The Rover somehow
