Spray foam? :-)
Spray foam? :-)
No she made a habit of it and the bus driver spoke to the police to catch her when she did it again.
Yup, that's the one! Supras were a little rough to get going right at the strip with a stick - at least until AEM's tuning for anti-lag was perfected - but on the highway? It was sick sick sick!
Psst - it was functional!
Well except on the Supra it was actually functional. If you look under the hood fo a US spec Supra you'll see a funny little scoop looking thing on the exhaust side. This interfaced with that scoop on Euro versions and it was used to keep the cast manifold cooler on the higher speed Autobahn. Not so on the silly…
aaaand they also cost a mint - easier to do an SC300 :-( I'd LOVE to replace my Supra!
Yup, and it handled pretty decent for it's day. But with the pricetag being what it was I doubt many really pushed it until it was sold used and could be afforded and modded. That was it's biggest weakness out of the box - window sticker. Mine was a 1995 and the sticker was over $50K, that was cubic dollars back then…
I owned an RX7 before my Supra and while I'll agree it looked better it was FAR more fragile and much less comfortable. I could take the Supra on a long drive with no complaint, the RX7 had my girlfriend in tears after a few hours. The RX7 left me always worrying I'd blow the motor, the Supra drivetrain was anvil…
Define unreasonable. Turbo, fuel system, exhaust, electronics, ignition, clutch. Same kinds of thing any forced induction car is going to need done. My ignition system consisted of 6x $5 motorcycle coils from eBay - first I know of to do that. My turbo kit was nothing super special, exhaust again not made of…
Want a Supra experience for less cash? Buy an SC300 and do the swap right.
My fave?
Nearly all of them were Targa. The hardtops are so rare there's a registry for them...
You realize the Supra handled right? go back and read some of the original tests, it handled just fine for a GT which is what it was built to be :-)
I completely agree with you but only if the engine is CAPABLE of 600+ like the previous Supra. Actually, make that 900+. And if they make it a 70K++ car then I will point and laugh at it JUST like I did the Supra when it came out and I was killing it in a Mustang 5.0. It wasn't until YEARS later that I was able to buy…
Sorry, I want the option for the dog or a small child to ride along. Also - groceries! My Supra rear seat was seldom used and almost never used after a rollbar went in except for carrying things. If insurance companies still care I want the extra seats for that reason if no other.
Start by not placing backup generators at sea level when parked next to the ocean? Had those backup generators not flooded the core would apparently have been fine from what I understand. In retrospect that was pretty poor planning on their part although I suppose they thought the sea wall would protect it from…
Bragging rights mostly if you can't put it down. Viper guys who mod their cars and don't have 4 digit HP get butthurt because all their friends have it - seriously. It's honestly a little dangerous on the street without some sort of traction control. For a tuner making power is about the chase for bigger numbers. If…
My Supra topped out on the dyno at 720WHP (race gas), others with my combo made a bit over 800 with a set of cams - mine were stock. Solution? I had a brand new head ported and a set of cams ready for it when it was totaled. Enough power? Probably not! In my case it was simply a challenge to see how much I could make.
<sob> Here in the states NONE of the TDI I've looked at from Audi has a stick! ALL of them are automatics and I've learned from experience that while decent the DSG in my VW simply doesn't shift when I'd want it to for max MPG. If I shift it manually it does far better but I want a damn stick. I can't bump the power…
Which TDI got a 6spd manual? When I bought my TDI all I could get was a 5spd and I stupidly went DSG. If I could buy a 6spd A3 TDI I'd be out shopping right now!
