what are the conditions to get 8.6mpg?  Standard mail truck use case of stopping and starting every 200 feet or so?  And what transmission is in it?  It probably doesn’t need 6-10 gears right?  Maybe 4?  Is it geared really low since it probably never needs to travel over 55 or 60mph?  Is that 8.6mpg at 55mph in top

true enough, haha

I’m not hating the way that car looks...

I believe the Bolt had 16 fires, and there was ample coverage of it here and elsewhere. far from thousands. I think this site has fairly said that Tesla the car is excellent if not that high quality, which is indisputable, but Tesla FSD is pretty crummy compared to what they’re claiming it can do.

it actually makes me think of a EV Toyota Megacruiser, not a Hummer EV.

is the cable long enough to drive back until the tire is exposed on the ground?

Passive seatbelts.  I damn near got myself strangled with those back in the day.  Also, TRX wheels on my E28 535i.

Maybe it has an orientation sensor like a phone and the magnetic field in the southern hemisphere tricked it into flipping upside down.

If you’re gonna have 2 cars anyways, why spend $50k on a commuter? The GV80 and RX350 sound good.  But just commute in an old 528i or something that’s not going to depreciate much anymore.

Can you declare war on a sovereign citizen?

Why do the tires look so small...

I mean you don’t actually stay in the hotel for 7 days.  you get like 4-5 days in foreign destinations.  mostly tourist traps but still kinda fun.

if you take a turbo off a car designed for a turbo without replacing the pistons, the compression ratio is probably going to be off and make no power, poor emissions, and probably bad gas mileage.

I’m not sure about that- Escalades can get up over $110,000.  A lot of buyers are just buying whatever the highest end Escalade they can get because it’s bigger than any of the Germans and it’s American built.  The difference between $110k and $140k probably isn’t prohibitive to them.

It does look pretty good.

yeah but if they want to sell this (including Tahoes, Yukons, Silverados, Suburbans, etc) in Europe, which I think they do offer it there, they’re designing and engineering to that standard, which I think is part of the reason why the hoodline is so high. But I agree, the hoodline on these is incredibly high.

Ive seen a lot of educated guesses at a 6.2L 650hp detuned Blackwing V8

What could you buy for say $1000 more? I feel like it would be worlds better than this.

Well, the Ram TRX has 50 more horsepower, about the same torque, and about 300lbs more weight, probably similar aero and it gets to 60 in 3.7 so I’d guess this thing will hit it in maybe 4 flat. that’s pretty damn fast for rolling house.

increased frontal area and high hood line could be needed to comply with pedestrian safety requirements. the hoods need to be a certain distance above the top of the motor to provide a crush zone.
