no shame in that- I rented a V6 mustang convertible for 3 weeks and 3000 miles and liked it enough to buy an SVT Cobra convertible. It was a lot of fun during my 20's....

actually a stick shifted E36 M3 is in the mid 5s I think. and an automatic is at 6 flat. so this is actually probably pretty fast.
I’d be more thinking “what could I swap into this...”
you are assuming that with the tens of thousands (hundreds?) of people out there, there was a tow truck ready and waiting to be dispatched immediately. That is unlikely almost anywhere in California.
How is the GT-R not the answer to this question. Or the Frontier? They not only look old, they actually are old designs. like >12years
To be fair, the SC430 didn’t compete with S2000 or MR2 or whatever Nissan put the 3.5L V6 into. It competed with other 4000 lb luxoverts like the SL500 (300hp) and the 645i (325hp). Against those competitors, I thought the SC430 was pretty decent as long as you thought of it as a 2 seater with large parcel shelves in…
on 19s it probably has enough sidewall. I’d also guess that 21's actually have larger total diameter that might cause a lower final gearing(?). 21's would also have more weight and rolling resistance I think.
This is exactly my thinking. I’d rather pay the manufacturer more money so they could invest it in better products than just simply line the dealer’s pockets just because they have something a lot of people want.
For $5k, this Aviator is worth it for the 300hp V8 alone.
it’d hold together pretty well- the engine is the same as the contemporary SVT Cobra (and Marauder I believe).
Here’s my question- why aren’t manufacturers raising the wholesale price on the cars by 8% if the dealers are gonna charge 15% over MSRP anyways? Don’t they want a cut of that sweet profit?
Just about every Genesis. and most large Kias. Stinger and G70 come to mind. second gen CTS.
better drivetrain? it was offered with 365hp and 365lbft and a 6 speed auto. seemed pretty good to me.
“Turkey fascinates me, because it may be the most expensive place to buy a car in the world.”
man, i stopped checking notifications because it doesn’t automatically go directly to your comment anymore. what’s up with that? and if you answer, I’ll never see it...
the 840i wasn’t much slower and was definitely easier to maintain. not easy, just easier.
people shit on Bangle a ton but notice how every car started to have “flame surfacing” about 5 years after he introduced it with the E60 and the Z4? yeah, that’s called being a visionary.
they’re actually really fast and they handle pretty well with the CoG about 8 inches off the ground. They’re pretty heavy though. I don’t know what else you want out of a car that would make it more fun. maybe better brakes?
the speed his front blinkers were flashing leads me to believe the rear might have burned out. but there’s still no reason the truck is not 100% to blame.
Here in CA at least, it’s supposedly illegal to mount tires with a lower speed rating than what was originally on the car. Anyone know if that’s actually true? I got that from a Americas Tire or whatever they’re called here.
