There’s a lot more to “environment” than solely emissions (though some sources say Ethanol production emissions are worse than petrochemical), including chemical runoff, monoculture soil depletion, and biome destruction.

Gah! I just looked at this year’s competitors. Only 3 entries in Economy?!? One Lap used to be very accessible to an amateur, but it looks like it’s becoming a victim of gentrification or something. Nearly 20 years ago I was part of a media team following the whole event taking photos and slapping video cameras on the

I remember when VIR re-opened. It was put on the 1LA that year, but no one had driven it in 30+ years.
I was with NASA’s HPDE, and we got the north course (I think BMWCCA got the south that weekend). 1LA competitors were flying in, renting v6 auto mustangs and anything else that moved, and thrashing them around the

OK, so among enthusiasts, an electric car probably won’t be considered the best Mazda 6 ever made”

Are there any other options left?  Doesn’t sound much different than non-EV people.

IMO it does not make sense to buy an EV if you are planning to rely on a charging network for anything outside of the occasional longer trip. If it is your commuter car, you’d better have a 40Amp+ charger in your garage or dedicated parking space. Anything else and you’re better off with a PHEV, HEV, or just regular

I know it get a lot of hate, but the BZ4X juts got a killer lease deal today for most of the country. $0 down and $181/month for 36 months on MY ‘23, similar deal, but I think $210/month on MY ‘24. Working on one for my wife or maybe me, right now.

EV leases are a great way for people to try out EVs who are worried about the tech rapidly changing in the next few years. You get 2-3 years ove  EV use for a good price and then get to see what happened down the road before really committing.

All marketing material is cringy and always has been. These are neat historical documents, but I don’t see anything particularly egregious here.

I got my Ocean One in October, and have been lucky to have had no significant issues. Yes, the key fob is a bit flakey, but mechanically the car has been great. I've gotten four over-the-air updates so far, so the infotainment system has improved a bit. My only issue is that a giant rock gave me a rock chip on the

I just checked the wear bars on my Model 3 yesterday. I am about due... after 51000 miles.

but the law also stipulates that at least 50 percent of the amount has to be paid in cash

From your source: “Contrary to speculations in the media, it is unknown whether an electric car caused the initial fire.”

I don’t think there is any study about that, though I don’t know if there are studies dealing with that with a normal ICE car either.

Its called running out of talent that he apparently never had.

Must have been an underinflated tire.

Building codes need to evolve to require chargers. A few years Boston started requiring 25% of parking spaces have EV chargers and 100% be EV-ready (meaning conduits, electrical capacity). This requirement is even higher than California.

Geez, you dumdum, it’s easy! Click the picture you uploaded and it says right on the bottom!

If this meant to be a jab at r/whatisthiscar, then kudos. By far the most annoying subreddit to start showing up in my feed.
