There is a horse as part of the emblem, so why on earth would anyone think it was named after a bean? Unless this is all just a joke, and my love of the Pinto is blinding me. ;-)

There is talk of the new EV bill being a POS (point of sale) discount, so not needed to be filed with taxs or anything. This would make things easier, as then you are only paying what is left on the car (finance or cash). Also for the states with sales tax, I would guess your tax bill would be based on the final

I agree, the majority of people are terrible with money.

Yes, thats what a Power wall is for. But, each power wall only only holds 13.5kWh. So if you have an electric car that you commute around AND you want to run your house overnight, your going to need, 1-2 for the car alone (depending how far you commute) and 1 to power the house (assuming you are not doing launder with

My scenario is similar to yours. The differences, we loose power 4-5 times a year, including a 36 hour period during winter last year. So having whole house backup power (and conserving it) is a huge plus to us. I dont see not having an ICE vehicle in the next 10+ years, so the Lightning can run the house, and the ICE

Oh, so you are me?

Ah, your scenario is “Emergency” I read it as “my daily plan”, yes totally agree with you.

Yes, well aware, I have done this before. I don’t think its a big issue to finance (if you are financing), then when you get your tax refund the following year, re-finance the car using the refund to pay down the principle owed.

A lot of what you state is the reason I put a reservation on the F150 Lightning as soon as I heard about it. We canceled our Power wall install, and will use the Lightning for those 0.1% instances we need emergency power.

At least there is some cost savings that go along with buying an EV vs an ICE. For now you get the 7500 tax credit, and lots of states kick in another 2500. Then fuel savings, maintenance savings (100 oil changes at the dealer), brake pads, etc.

That sounds about as much fun as pretending to have sex... ;-)

100% agree, everyone’s needs are different. I have a Fiesta ST currently, and a Fusion Energi. I was looking at selling both and going to this as a single car. Fiesta ST is ok with 2 kids in car seats, but not great, but its also my track car, so carrying tires/tools cross country is great with the hatchback. The SI

The SI is a sedan, so only a tiny trunk opening. the Hatchback rear deck is about the same slope, but at least the whole thing opens. So the SI fails at being super practical as well.

yeah I would at least drive it as I like Mazda, but no manual option eliminates it, since this is my toy/AX car.

yeah the SI not being a hatch limits its practicality. Yes 4 door, but the twins being a hatch, leaves it not THAT impractical by comparison.

Mazda MX-5 RF

This could be super popular in the Autocross world...if it came with extra wide wheels. SCCA street class rules keep you at stock rim width, so with those narrow steelies, its a non starter. Toss on some 8" wide rims though...

Being someone that has never ordered a car, I wouldn’t have known this is a thing on an order. I have bought lots of cars (50-60ish so far), but only a few new cars. I know all the tricks/etc dealers will play to get more of your money.

What I didnt know is that on an order like this, that you could get a signed

Yes, that is exactly my dilemma. I was ready to pick up a Civic Sport HP with the 1.5t and manual. Then saw how much better the interior is from the previous gen so waited for that. Que the huge disappointment in being forced into a bloated overpriced (since I don’t want the extra features) loaded model, that costs

Sorry, I should have been more clear with what I was trying to communicate. You are completely correct the current gen Sport Touring hatch with manual is a 29k car. The bit you are missing, and Steve was trying to point out is that prices of all released models hasn’t changed much from the previous gen.
