“Get it so Americans don’t need a car at all.”
The office of the Michigan congresswoman cited a May 2019 AAA survey showing only 16% of Americans said they would consider buying an electric vehicle because most consumers were concerned about purchase price, repair costs and battery reliability.
You hit the nail on the head with “project”. At under $2K you aren’t even really buying a vehicle. You’re buying a project.
This thing is a piece of shit. Sooo many red flags. This would bring scrap-value in my area, CP.
A mall parking lot?
Narrator: “they weren’t.”
This isn’t just before FCA, this car is also before Daimler. I have no idea if pre-Daimler Chrysler group cars were any good though.
BMW’s efficient dynamics system didn’t have a capacitor and instead used a huge deep cycle battery. I seem to recall that if you used it only on short drives it would kill the battery every couple of years and BMW eventually made it part of the annual service to replace the battery. That was fine when the car was new…
Fossil fuels have been in use for the last century+ and we’re living into our 80s on average.
You’re right, 25k buys a real Porsche. The door jamb of this 928 even reflects as such:
IMO they should just charge for the power. Maybe let the library/town-hall “validate” your charging card if you were actually visiting the library/town-hall.
Perhaps they should add idle fees like what Tesla does for Supercharging. If your battery is full and the charging station is at least half full, you start accruing a parking fee
Can New Jersey really afford this, given that their state pension funds are in such bad shape?
Can we talk about charger abuse? Because it’s the kind of bullshit that awful humans do that ruin it for everybody.
In a state whose unfunded pension and health care liabilities amounts to more than $100 billion, it's nice to see lawmakers once again addressing the most urgent problems!
When you pull into a charging spot in NJ, by law does some attendant have to plug the car in for you?
Toyota is building a whole-ass city
People don’t want electric cars - they want cheaper cars. This is a temp fix at best to get their numbers up for a little while. EVs will never replace gas cars until they can compete at the same price point. When you have to give money away to get people to buy them they just aren’t competitive.
You mean less Chargers ;)
