Feasible. It seems like the boards are sandwiched on their sides and held together by nylon banding.

Even more reason to say $80k for both, but I get the sense I’d still be overpaying as a result of the restorer’s workmanship.

Fine... No U.S. Lumina ever deserved better than a C. The U.S. called those Holden sedans the Pontiac G8.

CP - I couldn’t justify the price just to have bragging rights to owning VINs 1 &2. I’d want to drive these cars. Where I am, there are multiple great “cruising” spots, and I’d only depreciate the value of these cars by taking them on the road. I’d be equally happy buying a random guy’s nicely-done, well-cared-for

Even if your point is this is smaller than those, both the Tercel and Civic had 4WD versions in the 80s. I believe the Expo had AWD in the early 90s. Those were spiritual predecessors to the Trax, albeit without luxury appointments of the Avantime.

No Lumina has ever deserved better than a C.

Nice post

In 2001, that wouldn’t have been ahead of its time. Subaru was there with the Outback in the mid-90s, and Audi had its Allroad in 1999. Not to mention the AMC Eagle from the early 80s.

Your user name doesn’t check out.

Perhaps there’s another strategy behind retiring the Impala. Chevy will bring it back as a convertible crossover on 20" wheels.

I liked how Toyota's experts said their research would be used on future development of the truck. I guess the takeaway is they plan several more years of selling that truck.

$12 for the car.

No moonroof, so SE.

In their case, it sounds like they made an apt use of the “SUV” moniker, but “MPV” already made it clear it’s a “multi-purpose vehicle”, not a minivan.

Inimitable chemistry of that cast.

I think it’s an overstatement to say Audi is rebadged VW, but point taken. I was picking the Hilux to match the Germany/Japan pairing of Mercedes and Nissan.

No 1st Gen MPV love?

Handles like its on rails...if only rails were available.

Trucks sell. Audi should make a luxury truck like Mercedes. Rebadged Hilux to rival the rebadged Navara.
