Having a young child, this freaks me out. Didn't have to make that particular life-altering decision, but I've made others and will continue to do so. Anecdotal, but I've had friends and family who've worked and, ahem, stayed in a few prisons. My understanding is that minimum security can be the worst- prisoners have more liberty and there are more opportunities for violence as a result.
