I feel like you’re the one playing semantics, and I see no relationship between the Constitution officially setting down the State’s three branches (government, judiciary, parliament) and making the judiciary a part of the government.

Technically it doesn’t, the laws should be written and passed in the Cortes Generales (Parliament), but there’s a loophole with a particular type of decree (although technically it should be ratified later by the Parliament).

Lost in translation? In Spain no one would say it is.

In this one. In Spain, I understand the government as one of the three independent branches of the State (the executive branch), not the judiciary.

Interesting take. How do you explain that the judiciary then “took down” the Government they were supposedly following blindly a few months later?

The law would mean that the Spanish government would no longer rely on the presence or absence of “no” in determining whether a sexual encounter counts as rape

No, the French are buying Spanish wine and selling it as French.

1492 sorry

Spain is a Western country, a member of NATO and their military coalition against terrorism, and in their imaginary, a lost part of their Caliphate. In 711 AD Northern Africans (Muslims) conquered parts of Spain until 1942, when the last Muslim Kingdom (Granada) was finally defeated by the Christians.

JANE!!!!!

Belen Antonlin (Vogue Spain creative and fashion director) styled the photo shoot, Karim Belghiran is the hair stylist :)

They underline that it’s a short holiday twice in a short caption. Not surprising after William was called out for barely working a few weeks ago.

Yay, my favorite post of the year! I love book recommendations from people’s whose tastes I trust/like. :)

I read in an article someone linked somewhere that Gawker was laying off 4 Jezebel contributors, and in CA Pinkham’s twitter feed there’s a mention to the four of them (Jane Marie, Pinkham, Tracy and Mark) looking for a job.

Flygirl doesn’t have an official editor Gawker can fire, Jessica Coen left a few weeks ago. They’re also firing Mark Shrayber (a big loss imo, he is hilarious and seems very sweet), CA Pinkham (BCO is one of the most read columns across all Gawker sites) and Tracy Moore, with a very distinct voice in Jezebel.

I can’t believe millihelen is over and Jane Marie is leaving (or worse, being pushed out). This is by far one of the best Jezebel’s sub-blog, I love, love Deep Cuts, the 24 hours Beauty Diaries, the mall makeovers stories, the talk about make-up and beauty routines, the tips and tricks...and of course the best part is

And it’s a myth that they were released on the condition that they would never contact each other

Child marriage rates have decreased (a lot) in Spain since the 80s. The average age for a first marriage in 2014 was 33,9 (women) and 36,9 (men). In the 80s 12.867 children under 16 married (over 90% of those kids were girls) and between 2000 and 2014 “only” 235. (Source: BBC link provided in the article)
