I agree its not the Ripley from the books but I don't think that matters. The character of Ripley in the movie is confused emotionally and sexually. The ending I found heartbreaking particularly since the movie is really about Ripley's refusal to confront his own sexuality and the minute he seems to finally be happy he

My favorite Damon performance is still Talented Mr. Ripley.

I also read the book and thought it was terrible. Not well written and poorly structured. The movie improved on it in every way.

Loved this movie and I don't really understand the its nice comments. Its gentle and sweet but also heartbreaking without ever being mushy or going into hysterics or big scenes. Like the book its small but so incredible well done.

Oh also maybe its just me but The Grey felt like a much much better version of this film. Honestly I wish The Grey would get more love. That's a fantastic film.

I kind of love The Edge and would happily watch that again instead of Revenant.

The movie is beautiful to look at but also way too long such a thin story. Keep in mind all the Native American mysticism that runs through the film didn't work for me.

The love story was easily the best part of the novel to me. The assassination stuff was far less interesting to me.

I can see Miller's Crossing although I love it but to me Fargo is the most perfect screenplay they've ever written of many great screenplays. It works on every level and every moment for me.

The best part of Wayward Pines was the actors who gave really good performances with really silly material. Very much like American Horror Story.

While I love many Cohen Brothers films they'll never top Fargo for me. That's about as perfect a film as you can get.

I agree that for critics for Lebowski had to grown into liking it and I went from immediately loving it to really loving it but I just don't feel overall that a Coen Brothers are usually a grower. For all their weirdness I found them pretty accessible.

I don't really get this idea that Coen Brothers films are growers. Why are people saying that. I mean go back and watch Fargo and No Country For Old Men. I don't see how you can possibly walk out of those and say well I think there are good things in it but I have to think about it. They are great immediately. I would

Great episode although if they do a second season I hope Vince Gilligan can make it for at least one episode so he can do a comedy episode too.

As everyone else says Silent Alarm is a stone cold classic and an album I still regularly listen to to this day. There are also some songs I like on Weekend. After that oh well.

I know we're all supposed to hate Coldplay but he produced two albums of theirs. I'm pretty sure he did it because he liked them. And Viva La Vida is a good album.

That's too bad. I know a lot of people on these comments boards have despised Vampire Weekend but I've always thought they have made great albums. Modern Vampires was brilliant plain and simple. Too bad that's over. Maybe I'm in the minority. Anybody agree with me.

Thank you I don't agree with all Sundance favorites but Me Earl truly baffled me. I couldn't believe people thought that was good.

Spoilers!!

I've said this in other threads but I seem to be in the small minority that found Quentin to be very sympathetic if not a saint of a person. All the characters in the books felt very real to me.
