I love love the book series so Ill watch the show and be hopeful that it gets better. I also am in the small minority that found Quentin sympathetic. I would be angry as well about what happens to him at the end of the 2nd book.

Watched Wonder Boys again. What an underrated fantastic movie.

I didn't even know he was a playwright and I do like plays. Ill have to do that.

He wrote Atonement. I had no idea. Great movie.

Despite being a fan of Minghella Ive surprisingly never seen this. Ill have to correct that.

really I don't see how this is a tough call. Videotape is really good but Do The Right Thing is a masterpiece. How is it a tough call.

I know everybody loves the original but I just cant watch or deal with these intensely violent and nihilistic horror films. Kill List I loved probably because it was more about mood than anything else but after finishing the first Martyrs I just didn't get it,

"Ice" "Clyde Buchman's Final Repose" "Beyond The Sea" is not bad writing among many other episodes.

The little Friend is her weakest to me. Not nearly as compelling as Goldfinch and Secret History which are both wonderful.

completely agree

that was ridiculous. Kristen Dunst is clearly the better performance.

Does anybody think its BS that Hateful Eight got nominated in the cinematography category yet PTA's The Master another 70MM film in its year didn't. I mean I didn't like The Master at all but its 70MM cinematography was amazing and Anderson was using it in really different interesting ways.

So glad they didn't nominate Hateful Eight in the screenplay category. I don't get the love for the film.

I like Purple Noon a lot I just think Ripley is great. So impeccably put together and so heartbreaking. Not really the Ripley character but doesn't change how great the movie is.

This was defintely one of the great latter day King novels. I can't wait.

Love Minghella's Talented Mr. Ripley. Its has a fantastic cast all doing great work, Italy has never looked prettier, and it has a script that is elegant, multi-layered, disturbing, and ultimately very sad. Hitchcock would have loved the film.

Also so happy for Ex Machina

Steve Carrell gives his best performance in The Big Short. Certainly better than Foxcatcher. Hopefully he gets nominated for an Oscar.

Magnolia would be the top of the list for me

Did The Master get nominated at the Cinematographers Guild Awards. I remembered being shocked that it didn't get a best cinematography nomination at the Oscars. I wonder if the same thing will happen here.
