This is the way.

I’m a little on the other side of this.
I feel EVs should break away from the ICE vehicle constraints. The Hyundai N Vision 74 is a great example of an EV done right

Yeap. I don’t understand why people like that particular flavor of Koolaid so much, but I’ve accepted that they are drinking it by the 55 gallon drum. And the Big 3 is going to dominate that market with EV trucks in 5-10 years. And if they can make a good EV truck, they can make good EV body on frame style SUV.  And

Yeah, I think the Lightning’s performance is good enough for what people use a F150 for. I think the comments about crap range when towing max load are overblown because nobody would tow max load on a F-150 for long distances.

This. People who’ve tried towing 8-10k on the regular with a half ton often find out that it doesn’t guarantee that the transmission will survive the length of the loan term.

So, it’s mediocre at the thing 1% of truck owners do with their truck 1% of the time.

since there are so few situations in which it would be viable to use this vehicle for towing.“

I saw a GT3 parked at the local Costco the other day.  I mean, what’s even the point?  The thing should have been purchased by a racecar driver and should never leave the track...

This is what I find the funniest. Why weren’t their articles showing EcoBoost gas mileage dropped from like 18 to 6 when you towed a god damn sail of a trailer at maximum capacity up a continuous incline while going 80 mph.

The dont fucking buy one. Jesus Christ. “Real truck like things” is not limited to hauling your obstinate ass with a camper from key west to Yellowstone.

NO NO NO, I’M THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD THAT NEEDS TO TOW A HORSE TRAILER THAT FITS ELEVENTIY MILLION HORSES FOR 87 THOUSAND MILES STRAIGHT WITHOUT STOPPING BECAUSE I JUST PISS AND SHIT MY BRITCHES WITHOUT STOPPING

Hey, you’re one of those people I said that needs to tow and therefore isn’t interested. Thanks for commenting!

How many people tow a 10,000 lb trailer with any F-150 regularly for long distances?  I see people that drive any significant distance getting HD trucks because they are more stable at highway speeds.

A small minority of full size trucks get used for towing heavy loads anywhere close to the max. An even smaller minority (mostly people towing large camping trailers or fifth wheels) are used to tow for long distances.

Different horses for different courses, my man.

“truck like things” - my dude, nobody is buying a $100k truck to tow their landscaping trailer daily. They’re buying it to commute, to head to the grocery store, and possibly to tow their 10' bass boat the 15 miles to the river a few times a year. This is a dead horse that has been well beaten. There are SO MANY

Why do people keep ranting about range while towing? People that actually need to tow any great distance aren’t interested in these. These are for people that need to tow their boat five miles to the lake/river/whatever, but otherwise use their truck like a family sedan.

That’s still much more time consuming than the average BEV owner who charges at home, at work or while they shop.

There’s no line in my driveway, and no time wasted visiting a gas station as my car charges while I sleep.

Wanted to point out that the vehicle in the video is also a 400V architecture. Some OEMs are rolling out 800V architectures. The Rivian is also a 400V vehicle, so the limitations you’re seeing in max charging rate are at least partially due to that plus lack of battery pre-conditioning (he says he didn’t
