Interesting; the experience on r/volt is quite different!

That’s odd. I test drove a model Y 2 weeks ago and didn’t even make an appointment. I just showed up, filled out a form online, and they gave me a key and told me to try and be back in 30 min or less.

That’s a picture of a prototype and a 2016 model. There are maybe 5 or 6 years between them.

I stopped reading at the ENTIRELY erroneous and misleading first slide... the ST Line was an appearance package entirely different from the Fiesta ST is was sold alongside. And THAT car was/is one of the greatest hatches of all time--some might say it was the best, even.

I bought a 2016 Leaf in 2019. Although I went to the dealership specifically looking for a cheap used Leaf, the dealership kept trying to sell me a new 2019 based on the longer range. The salesperson specifically mentioned people going on road trips in the new model. Fortunately, I decided to buy the 2016 since I was

friends with the i3 do the euro mod that allows it to drive further and use the full gas tank.  it starts using the range extender earlier in the trip too

I think it was actually because, at the time of the redesign - remember, Ghosn was still in charge then - Nissan didn’t have the budget to make big changes to the platform. Note that it’s basically the same floorplan. The doors are the same as the first generation, as is some of the interior trim.

“getting away with this”....their two best selling vehicles aren’t even 5 years old yet. And yet they’ve already had multiple cosmetic changes both inside and out.

Is the frame different between the 2012 and the 2022?

“Because they assumed (correctly) that very few Leaf owners would actually try to do road trips in one, so it wouldn’t actually matter?”

I dunno, I’m a tesla owner and plenty other owners on the tesla owner fb groups seem to poke fun at how the roadster is basically vaporware at this point.

Yes, it is a compliance EV in almost every way you could count it:

I disagree on the looks. I think it’s very cool. How is 0-60 in 4 seconds ‘bad’?

yeah not everyone road trips the same.  Do you have two cars or just a one car garage. with just a one car garage a 100 miles EV is likely not the best choice for you.  But if you have two cars in your household it would work well

Thanks, you just described my Bmw i3; misunderstood, overlooked and fantastically liberating all for under $20G. I’ve owned many cars: ego boosting sportscars, muscle cars, huge diesel haulers, and a Suburban or two (because Suburban is the single word answer to 99% of your active family automotive needs) but only one

Tesla Model S. There, I said it.”

I know I’m biased, but to me, it feels like it’s “a normal car, but electric,” which is going to get a lot of buyers into it. Tesla Will-Smith-Slaps you upside the face with its “I’m not gas and also I’m different in every way possible!”

Did you know that you can still buy a Karma Revero? Specifically, the Karma Revero GS-6. It remains a Karma Revero.

An EV people claim is bad but is actually good is the Mini Cooper EV. People complain about the 110mi range yet the average american drives 50 miles a day and almost no one road trips in a mini cooper. they weigh around 3000lbs, do 0-60 in a respectable 6 seconds, and cost $30k. The reality is that most homes have one

Nissan Leaf.  Dated technology combined with “unique” charging.
