Toyota: Rounded to the round
Toyota: Rounded to the round
Yeah the Hyundai logo is terrible. No matter what the car wearing it looks like, every time I see it I get flashbacks of 1990's Elantra shitboxes.
1st & neutral: I find it rather amusing how many of the ones calling Tesla a bubble ready to burst were the same ones saying it would be bankrupt “this time next year!” for several years.
WTF? This is completely illegible.
Much better, but still really bad.
It screams cheap, because their cars are cheap. Swapping the logo won't change that
Agreed on all fronts. Lithium is not “rare” as some people suggest. This piece is about the ecological impact of producing lithium, not how hard it is to find it.
I’m sorry, but no. You can’t get the smell out of the foam.
That actually touches on something else. PHEVs are even more reliant on the ability to charge daily than an EV. There aren’t many people who can use a PHEV as intended but who also couldn’t just go full on EV. A lot of this seems based in worries about DC fast charger networks but that’s been changing super fast, even…
“I get that eventually we need to get off fossil fuels as the major fuel source. My point is that the current battery tech has issues with scaling that this article brings out. I don’t think that EV can scale to the actual vehicle demand. Instead of making one EV, it would be better to make three or four PHEVs with…
Cobalt is not a rare earth metal and it’s a by-product of Nickel mining, which has been an important resource for decades. Cobalt is also being phased out of battery production already.
Cobalt is not a rare earth element.
Not this again. Lithium ion batteries don’t need to use rare earth elements (it’s the Nimh batteries in hybrids that do).
But that sweeps under the rug the ecological impact of drilling for oil (some of which affects people locally, from recent articles that there are still new oil wells being built in California today).
I think there’s a disconnect between reality and what people envision that wealth to be.
I don’t have a problem with the likes of Musk, Buffett, Gates, or Bezos as much since the vast majority of their wealth is tied up in the stocks of the companies that they built. Musk just has to do something stupid (worse than in the past) and that’s down the drain. Now the ones that are rich because they inherited…
Because lots of people commute less that 150 miles a day.
For many reasons, a plug-in like the MX-30 will not have “all the emissions of an ICE”
Considering their goal is just to double the electric range, it can be pretty small. It really only needs to be capable of about 30kw (40hp), and a 5 gallon tank would suffice for the ~125 miles of “extended” range.
It needs to be boxier. It should look like the big bad body on frame SUV it is, not like some outdoorsy version of the Highlander.
