As automakers shift from horsepower to kilowatts to comply with stricter environmental regulations,

If we’re going to go all in with batteries, why not bundle a few solar panels and a small home back-up battery when purchasing an EV, that way you can charge the backup battery with the panels and in turn charge your car from the battery. Clean energy source to power your car.

Did you pick up your Bolt yet? How does it drive? Will there be a review of how crow tastes?

Model 3 came out on time but ramped up slower than expected. Model Y released ahead of schedule, so was the Shanghai factory. Elon Time is real, but aside from the autonomy stuff they’re improving on average compared to what it used to be.

Tesla takes what most companies would say they’d be able to do in 10 years, announces it’ll be available in two years, and then releases it in less than five years.

Sorry, I meant sub $35k after federal rebates. they hit that.

Good points, except the 50kw, that is okay. 7..... well that would be a long time.

Well said. When it comes to the F-150, Ford only makes changes when they they have the research to know it’s worth the risk.

The F-150 EV will be good, and they’ll sell a ton of them.”

“Market Segment: American Hatchback - Dead. It’s basically a Trax already. Just slap some plastic arches on it and you’re in the hottest segment, now.

You forgot the part where it lightly shocks you the entire time you hold the charging nozzle, and if you let go of it to use the bathroom or take a break, the battery loses all charge and you have to start over again.

  • Customer: how long does it take to charge?

Ford is marketing the F-150 EV directly to fleet managers, and it will make Ford billions.

Driver Assist: Doesn’t even have adaptive cruise... in 2020... for an EV... that stickers for $37,500.

The batteries seems to have real world life spans extending to 150K or more so yea.....about that......

Yeah, the Bolt is a great car/EV, but the points you mentioned are spot on. It’s a real head-scratcher.

The problem with the bolt isn’t that it’s an EV. It’s that it has a small hatchback form factor which is based on a car GM canceled outright.

That’s an incredible deal for the writer you heard from - although I’d be hesitant to pay up front on a lease (e.g. in case of accident write-off you lose all your money?).

PAGING ERIK SHILLING, Please report to the front. Time to put your money where your mouth is.

Bolt or no, being able to lease a car for three years for essentially $700 is crazy good. I’m now going to investigate these.
