my wife’s family is nowhere near I-94. the nearest high speed charger (level 3) is over 90 miles away, and given how cold it gets in ND, electric cars are going to have a hard time there regardless.

The fastest EVs can do more than 200 miles in 30 mins, as it says in the article.

BMW i3 has an optional on-board generator, essentially. 25kW (34hp)

Ford patented an in-bed generator a few years ago, actually. Guess they decided not to produce it, though.

The 1997 Camaro Pace Car that was white with orange stripes like the first gen pace car, is great, IMO.

There are plenty of “truck things” that don’t include frequent long-distance towing. Plenty of work trucks that don’t tow, or tow only within a 25 mile radius, for instance.

Your dealer has nothing at all to do with your reservation until you convert it to an order. At that point you pick a dealership you want to work with

The Lightning Pro was originally priced thousands less than a comparable gas F-150 (even before tax credits).

Yeah, it could be that it’s easier to convert factories that already do FWD to FWD EVs, maybe? And yeah, there are people who want FWD even though most or all of the reason FWD was good in inclement weather is now gone with EVs. But many people with FWD cars, or mainstream cars in general, probably don’t care or even

BMW i4 isn’t a dedicated platform. Mach E is “a heavily reworked” ICE platform. But even those are RWD-based. Could be more. I think Bolt and Leaf are a bit of a grey area. But yeah, LOTS of them are unique platforms and RWD-based already.

I think FWD packing is what we will see with EVs for a while.

usually the battery costs more than the whole car is sold for

It is actually more then double, ask some industry insiders, I have this information from a very high ranked manager in VW Group.

electric cars basically are twice the cost before incentives.

Its really not uncommon to have long trips double in time with all the charger hassles.

Na, I just know when someone is too washed to bother with.
